Just came across this video, and then I saw all the other videos you’ve made. Your content is really what nurses, students, etc need. As a RN this is the stuff u need to know. Not saying others on youtube isn’t showing good info, cause it is, but your even showing the basics like applying a transdermal patch or how to use an insulin pen. In the real world, people just assume ur suppose to know this stuff even when ur a new grad. Thanks so much!!!!

I recently had a PICC myself and simply used heprin to prevent clotting.

Heparin isn’t foolproof. Occasionally it can still happen. I hope your PICC days are over at this point, and you’re feeling well.

Very informative video, but curios the need to clean the clave or "cap" prior to removing and discarding it.

Hi! I’m wondering why a blood clot would be a contraindication for administering tPA (as you explain at 2:06)? Isn’t its purpose to break down blood clots? Thank you for making these videos!

according to Uworld, The nurse should "scrub the hub" with alcohol or chlorhexidine/alcohol for 10-15 seconds. This should be done before flushing, drawing blood, or administering medication.
@paularies32826 ай бұрын
YESSSS!!! Mayo Clinic did a study several years ago that minimum of 15 seconds for scrubbing the hub! I know all you amazing nurses are busy and over worked but that extra few seconds do matter in preventing line infections! Those extra seconds prevent a week in the hospital and took my body a year to recover. The reason I've only had one infection in 13+ years is meticulous line care.

did you open and prepare a aTP vial with 50 mg/50 ml and then you take only 2 ml of the aTP you already prepared ? the question is how come you get that dose on a small not labeled vial? otherwise good video, good tips, congrats.

Can I ask a question, when you pull the air out and then inject it back with TPA, will it cause air embolism, or is it because it's a negative pressure, no air enters the line? I am just confused on that one step
@sweetbabygirl9710 ай бұрын
i noticed that too. i usually don't pull air out and just push the 2ml of TPA in. not sure what your hospital policy is.

Thanks for your neat and pretty presentation Nurse Tina for you're appearing very neat and clean and presentation wise and pretty natural. Well presented. Aside from that upon looking at you and by going back to memory lane then deja Vu to imagining near future, the Tertiary hospital clean and cozy alleys and stations with resident doctors and accomodations, with interns and nurses in their status areas positions and accomodations and the order of things and the stats reported per time and the research done per disease connected to medical and science research lab and pharmaceuticals new possible treatment or medical or hospital equipments production facilities connected to hospitals that order of things reminds me of advanced civilizations to large motherships to observatory space crafts of the body mode pixel to the and fro from host outside projections of it's fission method general relativity effect because Host per Host per Host and Christ the Hosts of Hosts with opposite polarity to Roman Catholics church mass host and the Neuralinks equal in space projection of it's spiderweb connectivities cloaked in gases projected from the brain to outside and to and fro like an audiovisual camera projector.
