It’s actually the other way around, weaver has its origins in competition shooting, while isosceles was made for combat, not competition.
@TalisLoki Жыл бұрын
Weaver stance is for mainly competition shooting, its bad for the reason being is that when in a shootout the weaver stance leaves your side exposed where as in the isoceles stance is more squared in which the situation youd normally have a vest on making it harder for vital organs to be hit in a fire fight. Semi weaver is a good between that i personally use. Hope this helped 😊
@RavenG22 Жыл бұрын
@@TalisLokiit’s actually still heavily debated which is better for combat we could go on for hours like the isosceles could be argued better as it creates a smaller target and would be side by something like a corner but not in a fatal funnel etc etc 😂
@knowplay3258 Жыл бұрын
I went through extensive sidearm training and drills with alot of one-on-one instruction from some of the best combat shooters in the US military and Intelligence world. I was taught Weaver and Isoscheles stances. The pros and cons of each. Then I was taught the prefered type of stance for type of combat situations I would most likely stumble into. The prefered combat stance was a hybrid utilizing the same "wraparound" grip from the Isosceles stance(not the Weaver teacup like grip) with side facing view of the Weaver stance being sure not to allow either arm to become locked or rigid. This allowed me to maintain a smaller silhouette while still keeping my full 270 degrees of view and allowing to rapidly react to offset and side threats. As it was rare that I would be possibly wearing body armor in the settings I was deployed to, the side stance making me a smaller target silhouette was much safer than the Isosceles full face silhouette. The Hybrid stance also allowed me to stay on my toes with a leg back for support and rapid reaction. Yes, I was trained in the "Creeping Isosceles" utilized by SOF/SOCOM shooters, but only utilized that stance in the certain situations that made it advantageous to do so. So, as far as which is the better combat stance, I'd have to say that totally depends on the type of combat and situation your in. Run and gun with little to no cover...Weaver or the Weaver Hybrid. Plenty of cover stand-up fighting such as CQC(house clearing) or alley to alley...Isosceles and the Creeping Isosceles.
