Hands down one of the best Aussie comedians ever

Yeah. Shame he only has a dozen jokes which he's been repeating for 15 years.
@chookinathunderstorm34463 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanhalloran5350 Obviously everyone in this audience are finding Carl to be new and refreshing and hilariously relatable. I laughed with him back when he started out and was an immediate hit and am still laughing now as he takes his jokes first heard in Australia and the new ones, all still universally relatable, to more and more widespread new audiences. Also the up and coming generations relate and laugh at the same jokes as they grow in experience. My 22 yr old son has laughed with Carl since a kid and understood the humour more expansively and deeply as he's grown and experienced more of the same, more adult, recognisable situations. I find Carl's humour gives me the same feeling I get when someone invents some brilliant thing that fills a need in the community that was always there but was never recognised as being needed and I say to myself. " But it's such a simple invention, why wasn't it thought of before?" "Why didn't I think of that?" Everybody has that same instant thought wave that ripples through the audience which is that "Oh Yeah!" moment. That is the essence of Carl's comic genius and widespread appeal, even in foreign countries with English as a second language.

I didn't really think much of him at first. But after watching him a few times l think he's ok. I personally wouldn't pay to watch him but that's me.

I was just reading about him in the current Rolling Stone (Aussie icons edition, though they’ve borrowed a few from NZ!). It’s just a short profile you can read it at the supermarket, no need to buy the overpriced mag)

Oi Carl: if you don't want people to sit next to you on the train, then sit there & talk to yourself 🤪 Then people will look at you & go: "That bloke's bloody talkin' to himself over there. Somethin' must be wrong with that dickhead, I'm not sitting there" - if you do it well enough, you can even get a whole section to yourself 👍😉😂🤣
