I still remember Carl Cox playing a 30 minute set a record store called Central Station in Perth for about 40 people, it was in 1996 during a live tour of Australia. He was on the 1200's behind the counter and we were literally able to touch him. He signed CDs and flyers with a personal message and even asked our names. He was incredibly humble. Those experiences are rare.

Indeed. I’m 44 and was doing more gay raving back in the 90s such as Trade hearing the likes of Tony De Vit R.I.P. So I didn’t experience much of the sound from Cox etc. Tbh it’s only during lockdown I have turned that around. Been non-stop clicking from one mind blowing set to another. Education is an understatement. And tonnes of other shit hot tunes and sets & plenty by not big name DJs too I should stress. For all it’s less savoury aspects, KZbin & the net in general, it has delivered, no question during lockdown. Yet again music has been where I find my troubles can be forgotten. A saviour & lifeblood & countless others

This mix more relevant now than ever, reminiscent of golden early 90’s. This is all Sven vath I was there .... too many labels round sounds, this is pure techno trance at its best.

Hmm.. golden early nineties? Are you sure? Look up some old 95 digweed or carl cox and its pretty, well terrible really. Trance took off after 1998 imo, after astral projection and dancing galaxy. Yeah it's psytrance technically but it seemed to lift the entire production of EDM upwards.

guys!! sven vath and carl cox were never playing this style. this is old progressive house and trance sound!! vath and cox were playing techno and the older years techno- trance also..but never progressive sounds. similar vibe and style, at the old global underground collections, from sasha, digweed, howells, kleinenberg and many others. so not be comfused.. and dont say things about tribal techno, or psy tribal techno, cause this set has nothing to do with it. no techno at all. only one track, from 49 minute until 58 minute is techno genre. cheers ;)

Man we need to find out ASAP where this set comes from and who mixed it. I honestly think it was delivered by Digweed, or Oakenfold, or Sasha... anyway, someone from that scene. Probably recorded in the very first Oughties (like 2000-2002), judging by the release date of the tracks included in the mix. I tried with mixesdb but I couldn't find anything.
