I am 83 years old. I am not Chinese educated but familiar with this song in my youth. Recently I came across this after listening to Mr Doy's other pieces. For some strange reason my eyes teared as I read "Mama Hao". Beautiful tune. I dearly miss my mother and recently wrote 3 essays of her and me.

I have not heard this song/tune in probably two decades but when I was a little girl in China, it was played and sang to me regularly. I left my KZbin on autoplay and so stumbled across this - the tears just came crashing! My mother is still with me but of course, she’s getting old and I may not even have another 10 years with her. However Mr. Doy I want to thank you for this rendition; it’s so beautiful and emotional.
