The loader moves away before the weapon is fired due to Swedish safety protocols. You can only be exposed to the shockwave from 6 fullbore shots per 24 hour cycle. Thus, in order to be able to train in both roles you need to move so you are at least 3 meters from the weaon when it fires when you are acting as loader.

Standard swedish military commands. Shooter says and loader repeats so it's clear he has heard it. Ladda = Load, Skott kommer = Shell comming, Patron ut = (unload) so the weapon is cleared from live ammunition

@Magnus Högberg. The reason he isnt staying after reloading the grenade is because you are only allowed to be in the preassure zone of the weapon for a limited amount of times each 24 hours.. so if the team is going to max out on training they will switch places and they both can fire the maximum number of grenades.

@fredo51 Dry firing the weapon is standard operating procedure when unloading most weapons and the CG is no exception. It is done for two reasons as far as I know; to make sure that the weapon is unloaded, it is dry fired so that if there was a round left it would go off in a safe direction instead of accidentally hitting and injuring/killing someone. And secondly to relieve the tension on the firing pin spring.

throwing the projectile forwards. A rocket on the other hand is propelled by a controlled burn of fuel over a longer time (not necessarily a long time, may be a small fraction of a second). In the Rifle the projectile has its highest velocity at the moment it leaves the barrel. A rocket on the other hand reaches its highest velocity when the remaining fuel gives the same amount of force as the opposing force of punching through air generates on the rocket.

Tobias Haglund Hej Tobias! I Säki Pv står följande: 10.

When I serve the army I was GRG shooter. (Grenade launcher Carl Gustaf 84mm) then it was 14,3 plus grenade 3,5 = 17,8 kg fully loaded. Today less than 7 kg plus cartridge weigh 3,1 - 4 kg so around 10 kg fully loaded. Effective firing range : 150 m to 2100 m using rocket-boosted laser guided ammunition. Very fun to shoot. I had 95% accuracy of all my shoots if I may bragg. Also we use 9mm tracer rounds ammo. But at max 100 distant in to paper targets. And also 20 mm trainings rounds in to paper / metal targets, but at max 350 distant. SWEDISH Carl Gustav 84mm first fielded 1948.

@simonaslund444112 жыл бұрын
The M48 is a recoilless grenade rifle. to make it recoilless it is open and release a lot of the propellant force backwards. (newtons third law of motions, for every avtion, there is an exual and opposite reaction. In your shotgun that reaction is felt as recoil to your shoulder. In the M48 it is released backwards instead. What makes the M48 a grenade rifle instead of a rocket rifle is how the propulsive charge is burned. In a rifle or recoilless rifle (such as the M48) there is one explosion

It's gone from conscription to professional soldiers who serve up to 8 years in standing units, but the majority of the soldiers are part-time employed. So they have a job at the side and live normal lives and get called in a fixed number of days a year for exercise, or if they are to be deployed abroad.

@koenich79 To answer your question all recoilless rifles fire either a shell or a rocket based projectile. In the case of the Gustav, think of it as a shoulder fired artillery cannon. @corporacionmonstruo On fin-stabilzed rounds (HEAT) there is a loose band made out of teflon. This band engages the rifling causing it to rotate around the grenade rather than having the rifling engage the grenade causing it to spin while maintaining the gas seal required to propell the grenade properly out the gun. This is proabably why fin stabilzed rounds have significantly shorter effective range than spin stabilized ones.
