They tried to give themselves a 40% raise. It was tucked quietly into the first bill that was 15,000 pages long in the hope no one would spent 12 hours reading the entire bill. They got rid of the raise once it was found. It was almost snuck through. The first bill had so much pork that they couldn’t pass it. The American people are paying attention now.

Taxes was meant to be a temporary thing. After the civil war the IRS was set up to collect a 10% tax on wages for 10 years to pay for the war when that dept was paid we stopped paying taxes then we had WW1 and again we were taxed to pay for the war when it ended we stopped paying taxes. In short federal taxes were only supposed to be collected to pay for wars, are you seeing the problem? America has been in wars constantly and this is why we keep having to pay federal income tax. This is why you hear top scholars and economists say war is a money making machine.
