When the tournament organizations are on prime water when fish are shallow it may balance it out...when you schedule weird times it make it an offshore bite it with be all electronics....the sponsors are driving the decisions with site locations as well.....
@factsoffishing3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching Randy, Not sure the shallow water thing will hold true. Anglers are using perspective mode in the shallow a lot now days. As far as the schedule trust me it is not being driven by sponsors to make it FFS friendly what so ever.
@randyemerson87293 ай бұрын
you’re absolutely right that cat out of the bag now too. I’ve been watching guys use perspective mode targeting spawning bass in one to 4 feet of water that has extensive amount of Hydrilla milfoil stumps and their targeting these fish that are deep in the cover, which quite frankly is bullshit.
@randyemerson87293 ай бұрын
i’m gonna have to disagree with you on the schedule from my understanding the tournament site fees that are being paid by the communities really is a drop in the bucket in relation to XYZ sponsors who want them as specific locations. considering with BSS, they have a limited number of big sponsors. Texas, obviously is very important for a branding, and also activation standpoint, Oklahoma, Tennessee. That’s why I’ve seen the classics out in those marketplace that plus the fact is a big populations of anglers I agree with several of the pros they want to go to new locations that are not getting as much pressure if you combine that with dropping back on the electronics, something more reasonable I think that’s gonna make it fair for the entire field and guys will have to know how to fish a lot of anglers both trails that their electronics guiding them and quite frankly people swapping GPS coordinates or fishing holes, which has been documented in the media be interesting that they have one or two or three lesser fish and you would see the leaderboard dramatically change
@randyemerson87293 ай бұрын
agreed to disagree is always different viewpoints but I’ve been studying what’s going on with both the top organizations and others. I hope there’s positive change, but I’ll tell you it makes it difficult the image right now in the branding in the marketplace these products are geared towards essentially a superpricing driving up and driving out the middle and entry level tier of fishing. just like Kevin Van Damme, Hank Parker, and several others have been on records staying something has to be done not only from the electronics but all the other gizmos attached to the boats communication anglers buying a spots camping out on lakes before the 30 day off limits mean there’s just a lot of variables that really lends itself togetting in my opinion, unfair advantages

@@andyd834 how do you ever get to claim you’re the best in the world, if you can’t beat the rest of the world? If someone could beat you just 5/10 times and you decide to make what they are doing against the rules, so you can win 9/10, you aren’t the best in the world. If the sole reason they are better than you at anything, is because you aren’t willing to learn a new technique, you aren’t the best in the world, and you don’t deserve to be. couldn't agree more with Carl. People need to be able to see all the positive that does happen. If a person would be able to follow all the angler's social media, they would have a better understanding of that. Of course that would be nearly impossible. I think BASS needs to set up and start promoting some of that good stuff via their social media in some way. I always enjoyed watching the bass caves videos and behind the scales stuff. And if you want to grow the sport start going to fisheries you haven't been too. I get that its hard with logistics and finding communities that are willing and capable to host an event, but they are out there. I've said it before because I'm local and would love to attend and possibly help out at an event but I really think lake winnebago would be a really good spot. Oshkosh is experienced with hosting large fishing events (NWT), The system is incredibly diverse with 4 different lakes, multiple rivers, and diverse types of cover. It has good smallmouth and large mouth. The amount of people that fish in this region of Wisconsin is incredible. I could name multiple bass clubs in the area and the amount of tournaments is crazy. A great show as always! I think they should limit the use per tournament per angler. In a four day tournament, I think they let the anglers pick and choose which two days they want to ffs. For example, they could use it on day one and day three or the first two days or the last two days they can mix it up higher they want but only two days total. I think that would definitely add in some unique strategies. Also, I think they should cut back on the practice times.

I don’t think you can have different rules for different events. And especially not the Super Bowl of your sport. That’s like telling NBA teams that the 3 pointer is only going to be counted in January, March and the 1st round of the playoffs. If people are complaining about the number of transducers, put a limit on it. An outright ban on some of your main sponsors top product would likely come back to bite them in the ass with either a drop in their financial commitment to the tournaments or the anglers

So the issue I have with FFS is that, twice in BASS tournaments this year, anglers have caught the fish that they broke off, with the bait still in their mouth. Not saying that has not happened without FFS, because I've seen it but it was only luck, but in these 2 circumstances those anglers very purposefully targeted those bass to catch them after they broke them off. They admitted it. That would tend to make me think that , especially in the catch-weigh-release format, a bass could be caught multiple times, similar to sight fishing. Furthermore, one could interpolate that FFS is similar to sight fishing in that you can find a fish, stay with that fish, see how it reacts to your bait(s) and continue to aggregate it until it bites, catch it, then do it all over again. It seems to me that FFS presents a similar unfair advantage, at least to the fish, to that of sight fishing, which I also do not agree with. To combat that advantage, BASS created specific rules for sight fishing. I think that a good start would be to apply sight fishing rules to FFS. Specifically, if you choose to have FFS on your boat at all, then all your fish caught must be caught under those rules. No idea how you enforce that beyond self regulation, but maybe BASS needs marshals in every boat to regulate these ever increasing complex variables in fishing. You pay for that by increasing revenue, or decreasing payouts to cover the expense of the marshals. Or, just do away with it during the competition altogether so you don't have to have the marshals. On a personal note, I'd like to see limitations on FFS. It's very boring to watch. Either limit it to 4 tournaments a year entirely (BASS chooses which 4 tournaments get to use FFS), or limit it to 4 tournaments per competitor, and they can choose the ones they use it on. I'd say half, but there are 9 tournaments and that would be insane to split a tournament, although it would be interesting to watch. Do I use it for the first 2 days or the last 2. Or you can use it on half the competition days, and the angler can decide which 18 days they want. Regardless, they cannot have it on their boat at all if they choose not to use it for that tournament, or day, checked by BASS prior to each day. Anyway, FFS seems to be tearing the sport apart, and BASS needs to at least start taking action one way or another. I'm of the opinion that if you don't have enough information to make a complete decision, that you err on the side of caution until you have the information you need. I'm sure BASS would rather find out that they could have regulated it less, than that they should have regulated it more. This should also extend to State regulatory agencies also.

While sight fishing, all fish must be hooked inside the mouth. Going forward FFS should be classified as sight fishing you can see the fish and the bait on the screen. That should be considered sight fishing. Any EQ angler fishing the opens should be subject to the same no information rules as the elite fisherman. That’s an easy loophole to close. Only allow one FFS transducer and limit the total amount of screen size in inches allowed on the boat. I like Brandon Cobb’s idea that half the tournaments have FFS, and the other half don’t. No fishing locks.

Sounds like some of the vets want more payouts less entry fees I mean they basically want to treat it lime a reality show but there is no drama to get people to tune in .. the vets have had it all to them self for years and they ben milking it all the way I'm happy to see new competition in the sport but the vets don't want it

Do all the anglers and bassmaster/ tourney director get together before the season? Lock them all in a conference center and don't let them out until everyone agrees on rules and integrity. Probably a lot easier said then done hahaha!!

King Walter’s!!! Wow so so much where do I begin?? ….. how about…Ohio!! Good morning, good day. In this week’s Derby Backlash… the star of the show might have the shortest shorts in the world but has quite the long résumé of Bassmaster Achievements, and this tournament is no exception… but first, Mercer Mornings!… Ohio!, Taku. With the smoothest J Pop hair ever. Cory says Chris is fat…( if they only knew fat.) Mom got lil Trey to take his cough syrup and/or, according to Bowman and Hack attack… he cracked puberty and his cold was just a distraction. “I boat flipped him cuz I’m a man!!”… I respect his respect for Mom 👊 Oh, he also may have passed out at a gas station for an hour but that’s ok, the ladies love him there. ❤️ Double back to Patrick… DUDE smoked Murray. From his first Derby there at 12 until this win, he’s feared in SC. While competitors were out there watching their spooks get blown out of the water, it’s important to remember that It’s no fluke that Walter’s crushed the competition. Because, it would seem, Patrick was born to do just what he did this past weekend. Walter’s made Murray his Bitch! Hats off for o Cody Huff, the other Huff, Clunn’s Nextdoor Neighbor Huff, made things super exciting with his day 4 monster bag and derby big fish 👊 wtg Cody! Woah, holy crap! Let’s not forget, ever, the calamity while Lee and Kyle were playing bumper boats… Much to the delight of Lee Livesay, Zona and pretty much everyone in the world by now… KP Fishing went O Shit Swimming… ole barefoot Willie strikes again, his foot slipped right off the slick damp trolling motor frame and whoop! Right in the drink the lil fruit bat went. He’s confirmed he’s “that guy” at parties as he never let go of his rod and the trolling motor handle!! Impressive, Kyle! 👊 (we all hope your chest, ribs and stomach are ok and the bruising has subsided) Way to ask if he’s ok LEE! Last and certainly not least! Carl & Dave solve all of derby fishing woes! We can all finally move on and yes… dudes are winning without ffs. Maybe the answer is to just limit to one ducer before someone puts one on their truck! Hats off to Carl for his brilliant initiative to recognize fellow anglers for doing the right thing, emulating integrity, helping someone in need, and just being the pros they should be. Caleb Summerall pulls down that first G Note. Great job Caleb! Bassin’ Fun, OUT!

@@factsoffishing man I just love your shows, I love the sport… like Zona said…. I LOVE THIS SPORT. And I happily fish from a 16’ Tracker with lithium batteries, a 15 year old motor guide, a small Garmin with LVS34 and I can’t get enough… ever! Btw Since you parted ways with Puke Flunkin, your shows and content (Facts of Fishing Excluded because it’s always amazing) have never disappointed. I’ll speak for self but I know others must relate… I can’t get enough.

Ask the coonass fisherman on tour how to say bid in French. You should know. You are from Canada. Grand’Cox

I think that you can definitely justify banning FFS but, I do not see how 360 imaging could be banned. 360 is the same as side imaging and doesn’t give you a live image. On other accounts I’m a 16 year old kid and remember how fun fishing used to be without FFS and how fun it was when it was brand new. Now it is boring and ruins the surprise of fishing. I think that the issue right now is B.A.S.S. and MLF are scared to pull the trigger because people would flock to the other lead. If MLF bans it first then B.A.S.S. does a year after then MLF will say B.A.S.S. are copying MLF. If B.A.S.S. bans it and MLF doesn’t then MLF will be seen as rebel heroes in the eyes of youth (I’m obviously biased on which league is better). I think both leagues need to come together to make a decision on whether to ban it or not.

Thanks for watching. I can’t speak for MLF but I honestly don’t think anyone at Bass is scared to make a call on FFS. However they don’t make rule changes mid season and from the start they said they were taking this year to study it and make an educated decision. Thanks for watching

If FFS is banned, can we say that the Elite pros are really the best fisherman out there?

I think if they ban ffs completely, they will turn off the young anglers that grew up with technology. Grow the sport will be slow the sport.

That’s a good point Gary

My only issue with the Trey and G Man issue is the video GMan put out. In my opinion which isn’t worth much, no issues at all would have happened if Gerald would have put out a video saying “I literally have to report violations or I get disqualified”. But Don’t put stuff out there about your conversation. Both of you make money fishing, but more of your money comes from sponsorships and social media. Don’t put videos out bashing other anglers and taking money out of their pocket from bad publicity. Let the organization handle it. That’s why they are there.

it seems to me that some of the established pros paid lip service to growing the sport but now are unhappy with the results because it doesn't look like they expected and it is threatening their careers because the next generation doesn't do it the exact same way they do

One more time , I will say it one more time practice with it and don’t use it during the tournament. Racy fix. The electronic people get what they want. The men that has put their lives into it can still compete. Los the hard bait industry won’t die out.

Right now every elite that is on the bubble is the one making the most noise. Did carl stand up for the rookies when Matt ripped their ass in the angler meeting. Probably not,did everyone's hero Gman stand up for them. This coming from a 56 year old man,I hope the rookies keep hammering until the hammer breaks

The sharing of info between anglers during practice and the tourney needs to stop as well

100 percent agree I would hate to be a rookie competing against 30 3 man teams

@@AaronS-ml1bhit’s working pretty good for Trey and JT. They room together and share info. Being a rookie or a vet doesn’t have anything to do with who or how you work with people. As for a zero info policy they don’t work. Hard to enforce and they cause other problems. MLF tried to do it and it failed.

Let me rephrase this imagine being a rookies and not knowing anyone, the info they acquired that pros couldn't and ffs is what's making them good
