So in order to become a "fashion God" you just have to poke holes in a shirt and sell it for $1000? Where my scissors at?
@Worldsfamous3 жыл бұрын
Idk if you're black but its funny how yall continue to say this thoughtless shit over and over again. Yall want to knock Kanye down a notch as if Birkin Bags don't cost $800 to manufacture and sell for 300,000 and not for nothing Kanye has spoken on not being in control of pricing (with Nike) and has also spoken on classism and not liking classism. You hate his shit because YOU can't understand it cool, but if you didn't like it why be here leaving comments with no research behind them.

People never fucked with Kanye's style because he is always 5 years ahead. He wore the backpack in the early 2000's, then it became popular when dudes started Jerkin. He was the first artist to have his own designer shoe (louis'). Let's not forget about the Yeezy's that made glow in the dark bottoms cool. He had grown men wearing shutter shades. He started wearing long shirts and leather pants back in 2010, and we didn't start till 2014. He rocked joggers before we did. He singlehandly put Adidas above Nike in one year. He inspired the oversized crewneck sweaters that came back around 2014. He made the Roshe Run a thing of the past. He has people paying for shirts with holes in them. He's just the most influential person since MJ and no one can ever question it. He's so influential that you forget he's a 21 time Grammy winner.

I like Supreme, BUT they use limited quantities to create hype and demand, it's human psychology to want something that not many people have. They're definitely smart. 10 years ago, it was roughly easy to purchase Supreme stuff. These days, forget about it.

Cedrock Starr- I was gonna say the same thing about the term "Backpack Rapper"! That term was coined at least a decade before Kanye came on the music scene!!!!

@d.felixphoto22608 жыл бұрын
Much respect to them but they are the people who he's talking about and it really explains why his line looks like it. They in one breath say there are fashion rules and you can't change rules but then in the other say because he has Adidas he can't lose? Really? Adidas isn't giving him much to play with design wise and it's winning. He created a "psudo couture" approach to clothes that aren't necessarily by definition couture being basically mass produced gym apparel. It's not hand made and it's not a "house" and it's still high end. He made couture out of gym clothes with a company that has history but not even in the race next to Nike. That's hip hop in a nut shell. The culture itself can make shit hot across the globe.

Fashion wise Kanye kinda is in terms of INFLUENCE. Easily the most influential in fashion over the last 10 years. If you not really into fashion you wouldn't even know that. Its niggas on here thats bashing Kanye that wear shit that Kanye influenced but y'all so old, tacky, and/or disconnected that y'all don't even realize you look like a discount version of 2008 Kanye lol.

Shawnee Bailey-Karl Kani's clothing made a reintroduction into the fashion world via Tupac's biopic "All Eyez On Me" because Karl Kani had to reproduce the clothes that Tupac's wore during his rise to fame! But, even before the movie I started seeing Karl Kani retro clothing in "City Gear" which is an urban clothing franchise store that's similar to "Citi Trends" urban fashion clothing franchise.

fashion god? Kanye west cant dress for shit. I haven't liked anything he wore since the college dropout days when he was polo'd out. just cause you design a couple of nikes doesn't mean you deserve your own clothing line. shit I can design a couple jordans, don't mean my clothing line is gonna be the shit either.

Sherard B.- I got that(gay)from vibe from them too during this interview. However, the way they spoke and thier mannerisms were the same as Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger who's happily married with children and grandchildren! Doesn't mean that Carl and TJ(cross colours) are not gay, it's almost like Vlad was trying to get them to just come out and say Most fashion designers and the (mainstream) fashion industry as a whole is dominated by white gay men and lesbian women! They wouldn't dare throw their fashion counterparts under the bus like that! Just the same way police don't throw their own under the bus, the same is true in the fashion industry! Just my observation!
@samwiseghanjee82186 жыл бұрын
How can there be 3 parts of this interview, yet not one person spoke about the ethos of the company, and the whole message behind Cross Colours? Kind of lost a bit of respect as this made it sound like it was all purely business with no moral behind it.
