Many people regard him as arrogant but Lewis knew what he wanted and was always aware of his capabilities. He was critical on himself when he didn't perform the way he had planned but congratulated his opponent with the victory. Therefore for me he is one of the greatest athletes in track and field of all time.

It's great to hear Carl Lewis doing athletics punditry, especially of his classic Olympic race of 32 years ago.

Carl Lewis the greatest athlete ever. All these 100 meters runners are all jack up, Carl never looked like that he looked like a true runner.

still tho full of style and grace from dedication of years of well earned hard, smart training. Even though I was more of a Linford Christie and Ben Johnson fan, u cud never ever count out Carl Lewis if he was putting his feet into the Blocks. Well done Carl I have lots of fond memories of u on the track or in the field, that I will tell my kids about and even the grandkids. As when I 14 yrs old I won the "County Clare " 100m and long jump (Ireland) I thought I cud of been the next Lewis? ha ha ha. But focus on the 100m in competition, following a 200m training schedule (Phew I found that tough at the time) But in 1997 I won the Irish N.A.C.A.I National champs in 1997 at 200m. spent the nxt yrs injured, but bounced back to come 2nd in the national championships at 100m and 2nd at the 200m. Great days with lots of fond memories to tell those grand kids 1 day. It's a sport I'd advise u get ur kids into as it serves as a purpose in the terms of conditioning training for just about any sports. So here's to your health and fitness people. just be smart about ur training and building it all up gradually and the results will come in due course. Bye for now Irish Athletics Fan... Mick G
