RIP Emerson and Lake, you both did a fine job with Carl in this Concert. E and L died in 2016. Palmer was known for his speed. The double bass kick drums just added another realm to Carl's percussion expertise. 54 years and still kickin' ass! Thanks Jim for another great "Baby Boomer" concert, Summer 2024. I saved this video to my Favorites.

I was really lucky to have seen Emerson Lake and Palmer in 92. Carl's drum solo was the best drum solo I've ever seen and I've seen Rush several times.

I was at this show. To be honest, it made me sad. Carl's drumming was perfect. But the vibe was not there. If anything, Carl should put the two screens of Keith and Greg closer to him since it shows both of them at times playing. You had to look at one side or the other and it felt odd not to look at Carl since he was the remaining one playing live. Also to not even finish the complete song "From the Beginning" all the way to the end is criminal. So, this version of ELP was a bummer for me. But then Jon Anderson came out and totally uplifted the mood with the Band Geeks. They were so fun to watch and to hear Jon's voice just as good as it has always been was wonderful. And this is coming from someone that used to be an ELP super Fan. I truly hope Jon and the Band Geeks give us a couple more tours, possibly with songs off the 90125 album. No matter what, if Jon is singing, I'm there. The man is the best of humanity. Giving and kind.

This drumming is anything but perfect. Never really was, and I could do a breakdown on why, and may at some point. But yeah, this is a bummer.

I wanted to add the one thing that I did notice at this show. I think Carl Palmer is likely making more money off of the merchandise than he is actually doing the show. Besides the ELP clothing, he had vast amounts of signed albums and merchandise, including a signed snare drum for $500.00 There were definitely more people that were in line for ELP merch, by far. Jon Anderson was only selling a small selection of T-shirts. When you think about what legends both of these groups are (and were back in the day) it's a bummer. I do hope they both made enough to sustain themselves. I loved both back when they were in their prime and still like them now. History should absolutely honor their legacy.

I’m sure Carl is not hurting for money. He’s quite wealthy. He’s doing this to keep the music alive while he can.

@@mwoods1052 Yeah I didn't do the meet and greet when I went to see Carl. He did used to sign merchandise after every concert in the past though and I briefly met him then. I remember putting my hand on his arm and feeling how he was drenched in sweat. Carl gives it his all.

Keith's parts played on guitar synth? It's apparent can't find a keyboard player that comes close to Keith. There are a few but they miss the mark. All technique, but no feeling.
@mwoods1052Ай бұрын
If you listened to the many interviews Carl has done about this presentation, he purposely did not have a keyboardist. Otherwise it would just be a copy band. He’s creating something different here. He even says that it’s not everyone’s taste but he found a way to portray the keyboards using guitar, bass and chapman stick. I applaud him for being so innovative.

Actually, I wondered about them. The gutair player was excellent. The bass player truly looked like he was bored and would rather be listening to Drake or someone. But they both got the job done. So, yes. Well done job for those two. Hopefully it will get them better gigs from whatever the musical equivalent of a resume is.

@@privatemale2147 they’ve both been with Carl for over 20 years each. They aren’t going anywhere. And, they do have other work they do when not on the road with Carl. I know Paul looks like a young boy but he’s 45 years old.
Carl's just trying to make a living. But playing to videos with his deceased ex band mates is the same to playing with a record.

I can understand thinking that they cheapened ELP’s legacy, but I was at the show and it wasn’t that way at all. Carl still plays fantastically well, especially for his advanced age, and he was very charming and engaging with the crowd. Considering that and the fact that his two dear friends were no longer there with him, he put on a very nice show with a nice selection of ELP and was clearly enjoying himself. Thankfully, there was nothing at all cheap about it, just enjoyable and sincere.
