I can't believe no one has commented on this one yet. Thank you for posting this Carl Perkins classic.

Perkins had a great awesome sound. One of my favorite is also Caldonia which feature jerry Lee Lewis on Piano and Carl on Vocal. Perkins''s Band had some of his brothers in it.

Rockabilly died in early 1956, Perkins had the one huge rockabilly hit with blue suede shoes, He couldn't follow it up as his subsequent recordings were rockabilly numbers and that was it, He was greatly helped by Elvis also having a hit with A rocked up version of "shoes" this became a popular song for Elvis and this helped keep Perkins name in the limelight, quite sad how after having a huge hit, his musical style became so quickly outdated and how someone who was once so cutting edge so to speak tried to ride the gravy train of his own success and couldn't see that he'd become obsolete. Such a shame that he didn't see that music had changed quickly, Bill Haleys rockabilly swing type music made him famous earlier, Bill had his first worldwide hit in late 1954 and continued having hits throughout 1955 and into early 1956, he'd built up a much bigger fan base. Let's remember Perkins for the one time he hit the nail on the head with blue suede shoes and not him shooting at ghosts

Should have been done a 706 Union Sun sound on Columbia Records.

A great song from a great cat. But I'd like to make you hear Jerry Lee's rendition of this song.

This is a faster and more lively version than Carl's re-recording of it on Columbia.

Im a big fan of Carls and thought I had every sun track he every recorded but I have never heard this version of Pink Pedal Pushers before. Could you please tell me the title of the CD you got this from as I'd love to get a hold of a copy for my collection. Thanks...

Great to hear but this is a totally different version than the one I bought when it came out (a 45 with "Jive After Five" on the flipside) Any info on where this version came from? Also, it looks like you have a picture of the Johnny Burnette trio in there around 51 seconds in.

What album is this from? I have it on an album of his 'Restless' but its not the same recording. And i like how this version sounds too. Thanks :3

@collareddove7 This one of the Alternate versions on SUN. By the time Restless was realeased there was NO more Rockabilly and the original sound was dead

I like this r&r song by Carl better than I do his "Blue Suede Shoes", the only song I knew Carl for. He only had the one major hit which conflicted with the Elvis version...of coarse in the end Elvis won out? But I was one of them that preferred Carls version, yet they were so similiar, even I scratched my head. This song definetly sounds like Carl singing & no one else. As much as I like this better, I don't like Pedalpushers anymore than I do Brazzier...it's slacks & a Bra 4 me! THX
