The twist that the 'anti-softlock' was actually the only way to beat the level was just gold. Panga was willing to just wait 500 seconds or restart from the beginning despite the extremely lengthy amount of level that you had to do to get back to the last checkpoint. Though Panga's dislike of the balloon powerup probably made up for at least half the reason why he didn't want to do the anti to get back to the checkpoint. Makes me wonder if Panga would've beaten the level faster if he hadn't ever gotten the balloon power-up controls messed by playing sunshine. Or if he at least overcame his difficulties in using the balloon power-up despite playing sunshine. I think he might've.

A water level troll level just spells disaster. Fighting with slow, annoying controls is the worst way to make people want to try again. Good troll levels make you say 'hey that was clever' when you die, and want to try again because the knowledge will make it pretty fast to get past next time. When even knowing exactly what to do the level still takes forever, any rational person would just ignore the level and play something else.

I somehow agree. Carls Getting over it level just required a huge amount of skill to beat and had some mean obstacles, bust mostly it was your own fault when falling down. This, however is just learning how the level works by trial and error. Nonetheless, I had fun watching Panga get trolled over and over again ;D

I still don't get why many people including y'all categorize this level as a troll level. A big portion of this level requires precise skill and a work-around for the janky platforming (can i even call it that?) it offers you. The seemingly repeated sections and the underwater are mashed together to purposefully make you annoyed with fun perhaps not in mind. A SMM2 troll level always presents a unique puzzle with a glint of psychological tricks, and you can have fun with that no matter how much the creator tries to frustrate you. This is a level made by carl you and i can objectively hate and call bad. This is not a troll level.
