He say what a guy on a stage is supposed to say. In a way it's the stage that is speaking through him while he is a more or less charismatic placeholder or paper cup holder in this case. Everything he could say or does in fact say is predetermined by the speaker audience setting. He reenacts the relationship between the holy man and his believers, the foundation of every social structure and hierarchy. And make no mistake about it Carl is acting the role of a holy man here, no matter how casually he crosses his legs and sips his coffee. He has the nonchalance of an angel who thinks he cannot fall.

Okay, carl sagan does believe in Spinoza's God as known "Pantheism/God=nature"

Also I can spin it around and say that the burden of proof is on atheists cause the way I see it there is a lot more evidence that a mind behind the universe exists.

He is sort of a typical dummy because he called God a light skin guy with a big beard on a throne, no where in the Bible does it say that, that image comes from renaissance paintings and the like. Also he said that many founding fathers were deists also not true only a handful truly were and some changed later in their lives. Lastly he says why not say the universe always existed since God does but there is a lot more evidence to show the universe and matter did not always exist. I’m not saying the guy isn’t smart but he is sort of someone who just pushes the typical counter culture narrative.

It doesn't matter what he says. If you are taking this understanding from him then you are appealing to authority. His is just another opinion.
