Well done Carl. Really enjoyed part 2. So nicely done 👌 Love the pond look and how the fence almost disapear in the background. Fantastic choice of fish. If you love single colored fish. Have a look at a Kin Kabuto 🤩 Karashigoi grows lile weed, bought a small karashi at 20cm in august. It just hit 50cm last week😅👍

It's coming along nicely all the work will finally pay off once you have fish in there it will look beautiful. on a different note what's the bottom on tanayards speci 3 like please? I'm going for 5 days I'm just trying to get some info together before I go cheers.

Thanks mate! Speci 3 is a silty lake with a few clay patches. The emerging lily pads should fish well, as will the shallows on warm sunny days. The far end is usually best if you can't see any signs of fish in the shallows :) Hope this helps!

Another brilliant video Carl,That pond looks wicked and amazing and i cannot wait for the final finished set up 👏👏👏 I use to have a koi pond myself many years ago (although mine was brick built semi raised and much more modest than your incredible structure. I also use to keep marine fish and even now there is nothing more satisfying than watching fish swim about and hear running water. Nowadays i just have a few water features in the garden which gives me serenity.

Have filled the pond up, and turned on filtration, all working perfectly! Nearly finished filming, will ready to edit pt 3 soon. Looking like it will be out in May :)

Soon as the wood arrives for the final finishing. It's taking it's time to be available so lots waiting at the moment, and can't plant up until that's done. Hopefully only a few more weeks!

Reading comments you are having issues with the fibreglass. THE guy to use is Matt. GRP Lining Services see his KZbin same name. What he doesn’t know about ponds and fibreglass isn’t worth knowing.

My sponsor Oase helped enable the project, which of this size is around 30 - 40k all in... it's proper. but can be done at various levels, to different budgets. I couldn't have done it without Oase, or The Pond Specialists who did the work. YEs Steve helped immensely with the carpentry :) And my Dad with the planting.

Hi Carl Love everything that you have done. Just one question-how are you going to prevent the fish from being taken during the night? . i do not think they would last 2 weeks where i live before they would be gone and i live in a good area.

My mate built the carbon fibre for the F1 McLaren team so he knocked me up a 4m x 2m frame with a net and I can lift the while thing off with one hand in seconds. Strong enough to hold a human. Minimal and a game changer.

Carl, how did you decide what thickness of Celotex to use in the walls? and what thickness is it - looks like it could be anything between 50-100mm? I'm trying to find help with insulation specifications for a big koi pond and not yet finding anyone who would get into that kind of stuff!

Your words are true, my brother like koi with one color, he has Saragoi [the only dark blue in our pond] and chagoi both grow big and has humps which makes more lovely for koi. (it was also in the mind of my brother, a single color koi and a koi with small tail& fins tends to grow big, not just there are friendly fish but also good eaters)

I have always wanted one of these ponds too but im a bit more interested in trout and would love having a few in a pond like this but they need more colder water. Having one of these ponds though is just craving to have koi, i know that there is a lake near my home with both regular carp and brown trout so i would like to know if maybe i could work around it and have both koi and trout in the same pond somehow? Maybe have a temperature thats more luke warm or even a bit colder? Maybe you dont know either but i just think that you might have some clue

There's been some delays, found a hole in the fibreglass in one of the bottom drains, it's getting fixed this week :) wood coping is getting finished next week, and then we can plants up the beds. Pt 3 will be out in May now!

Very excited about the finished project with all the fish in it. Still you need a doitsu. Konishi doitsu karashi are worth a look believe me. 1m+ easy... They are huge.
