I'm a 53 year old former Marine and my guitar has called me back after raising 2 sons. For whatever reason life came along and took me away from my beloved guitar. The past 4 or 5 years I've been getting more and more back into it again and I came across this on youtube. Carl I'm litraly in tears as I'm typing this....You are a true virtuoso...Thank you for sharing your talent with the rest of us mere mortals my brother.

We're about the same age. Same story here. Kids are raised. Time for guitar now. I'm just starting back up. I'm sure you remember the days when we used to sit around the turntable and try to figure all this out by ear...and got a lot of it on our own. Cheers my friend, hope you are enjoying life. Oh, and thank you for your service.

There's a lady who's sure All that glitters is gold And she's buying a stairway to heaven When she gets there she knows If the stores are all closed With a word she can get what she came for Oh oh oh oh and she's buying a stairway to heaven There's a sign on the wall But she wants to be sure 'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings In a tree by the brook There's a songbird who sings Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiving Ooh, it makes me wonder Ooh, it makes me wonder There's a feeling I get When I look to the west And my spirit is crying for leaving In my thoughts I have seen Rings of smoke through the trees And the voices of those who standing looking Ooh, it makes me wonder Ooh, it really makes me wonder And it's whispered that soon, If we all call the tune Then the piper will lead us to reason And a new day will dawn For those who stand long And the forests will echo with laughter If there's a bustle in your hedgerow Don't be alarmed now It's just a spring clean for the May queen Yes, there are two paths you can go by But in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on And it makes me wonder Your head is humming and it won't go In case you don't know The piper's calling you to join him Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow And did you know Your stairway lies on the whispering wind And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our soul There walks a lady we all know Who shines white light and wants to show How everything still turns to gold And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last When all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll And she's buying the stairway to heaven

To all those asking about his gear, the electric you see is his Fender Eric Johnson Signature Strat. The acoustic is from a limited edition Epiphone "Masterbilt" guitar. He uses no amps or things like that, instead he uses a Fractal guitar modelling processor. Check out his gear video to know more.

I do not know how many people know this, but page did not play this song on acoustic, it's all electric but with a very clear sound, still it's a very good cover
@larrygeetar93098 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but need to correct you. Page played a Harmony Sovereign acoustic for the fingerstyle parts and strummed chords. It was doubled in the bridge section with a Fender electric 12 string going direct into the board, to get the cleanest sound possible. There are multiple guitar tracks and the acoustic track is the one that leads the song off and is the main hook. So much so that they got sued - but rightfully won in court.

It was played on acoustic! It's very obvious.
