A very insane detail to know is at the eren and ramzi conversation there was a language barrier. Ramzi couldn’t understand what eren was saying to him. So it kinda makes sense why ramzi would ask “why are you crying”
@komarunaegi7460 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I haven't read the manga, but I wonder if that did a better job at portraying that. A lot of people understandably don't put that together because we see Ramzi, his brother, and his family all speak Japanese in Part 3 like every other character. Back in Part 2, Ramzi didn't speak at all, and the old man he brings along to invite them to their camp for drinks *does* speak a made-up language, but it's only for one line, where Eren and the other characters just assume what they're inviting them for before getting totally wasted--and that’s easy to forget when it’s such a small moment, and Part 3 foregoes that entirely.

Say you have 2 countries, 1 has been killing people from the other and making them pay money causing the 2nd to have their people live by eating dirt and having no future. Now imagine someone from Country 2 decides to end it and commits a complete genocide of the people from Country 1. Anyone who survives (or even people from the outside world who have very little knowledge of their history) will call Country 2 horrible people and especially the person who orchestrated it all would be The Devil basically, while people living in Country 2 will see him as the hero they needed. People agree with Eren's plan because he really has no other choice with a decent outcome. He can remove the power of the Titans, but their civilization is still hated by EVERYONE and they don't have the weaponry and military experience the other countries do, so they 'd likely go commit genocide against them if he did that, he can do a mini Rumbling, but eventually he'll die and the person they pass off his Titans to wouldn't have the know how that he does and they'd probably attack (if they don't do another Inside attack) on them and kill them all for being "Devils". They just agree that it's the only "Good outcome" for them even if it means doing something completely awful to get it and hence they agree with Floch trying to stop them from preventing Eren from finishing his job.

The Armin/Annie dynamic was very apparent in the Female Titan arc. 1.Armin called Annie a good person when he suspected she was trying to sway them away from joining the Survey Corps. 2.Annie spared Armin's life on multiple occasions in titan form when she could've killed him. 3.Armin waited a whole month to speak up about her having Marco's maneuverer gear because he didn't want to suspect her. 4..Annie even knowingly walked right into Armin's trap in Stohess district because she wanted to be seen as a "good person" in his eyes. 5.Hell her doing that and sparing Armin's life multiple times is what jeopardised her entire mission since Armin was the one who exposed her identity, so the entire reason she ended up getting locked in the ice crystal is because of her connection to him. Which is why I loved how their talk from season 1 about what it means to be a good person came back here, both of them have slaughtered innocent people so neither are in an adequate position to judge one another and neither of them want to. They both just understand each other and what it's like to be in each others positions. Same with Reiner, Connie and Jean later on, up until this point none of them have probably ever tried to put themselves in the Warrior's shoes but now that they've killed people in order to save the world they realise they probably would've done the exact same and gone through with the mission had they been put in Reiner/Annie/Bertholdt's position.

The old couple stuck in the jail cell were Grisha's parents aka Eren's and Zeke's grandparents. They were, more than likely, detained after Marley realized Zeke's betrayal. As for Annie, she admitted in season 4 that she will kill everyone again if it meant that she can survive to see her father (the only person that ever loved her) again even though she has expressed multiple times that she either didn't want to kill anyone or she felt remorse like in season 1 where Annie, in shock, apologizing to all the corpses. Despite her drive to do anything to see her father again, she couldn't bring herself to kill one person in season 1, Armin. Annie did admit she didn't know why she couldn't kill Armin. Despite that season 4 hindsight, there was always something between Armin and Annie. Armin's intentions became more apparent when he visited Annie frequently, and Eren and Hitch called him out on that too. That conversation on the boat, Annie just couldn't understand that Armin loves her because she only had one other person that cared for her (Annie thinking her father is dead) so she believed that Armin was pitying her or has ulterior motives being with her and not actually having feelings for her. So Armin's saying about a "good person" and "monster" was him rejecting all of Annie internal negative feelings she has about herself and admitting his actual feelings for her. Which I thought was very sweet.

I always felt like Armin was the ONLY person who could fall in love with Annie and vice versa. Annie, from a very young age, learned that feelings and emotions got you nowhere and have no benefit, and the only thing that matters is your will, your drive, and your flight in order to survive. Annie had to sacrifice her own humanity in order to protect what she actually was, a young girl who deserved to have a loving childhood. Now Armin is easily one of the most mentally and emotionally mature characters in the show, and from Annie’s perspective, is living proudly and confidently with a perspective she was taught was weakness. With Annie’s messed up brain, I feel like that alone would make her extremely curious about him as a person. That and despite Annie, always trying to isolate herself from the world, Arman was always able to see right through her and make her the little girl inside. Feel scene in deep down, isn’t being seen what we all crave?

If they do Levi’s character justice, then a lot of his motivations and dialogue will truly make sense. I mean in this one episode alone he said “if I lay down any longer than you guys are gonna forget about me“ which yeah coming from Levi sounds kind of funny, but when you also put into perspective his upbringing, Levi has actually been constantly abandoned by people he’s cared about because they either died or left him. So it somewhat makes sense that he would be so heavily focused on killing the beast titan when he views himself as a failure for not keeping his promise.

32:01 No, it's even better, it goes back to the first part of season 3. Remember how no matter what he did Eren couldn't use hardening? That was until he ate a flask containing a liquid that said "Armor". Titans can manifest the abilities of other titan shifters if they are put in contact with the respective spinal fluid. It's implied that Annie and Zeke, both were forced to drink the spinal fluid from the Armored, thus giving them the ability to use hardening. In Eldia, the cult also had a sample of the Armored titan's spinal fluid, and that's what Eren ate. Now Falco was made a titan using Zeke's spinal fluid, so he can use some of the abilities from the Beast Titan, who (apparently) can change form to an animal depending on the personality and desires from the user (e.g. Zeke liked monkeys and loved to play baseball. That's why it turned out like that). Falco's always been related to birds since he has the most open mind, he's truly "free", so it makes sense how he could access to wings thanks to the Beast Titan spinal fluid.

the last part of your explanation will make sense even more once the final final final episode airs. spoiler . . . . . . . . beast titan's animalistic form is determined by animal closest to the titan owner's imagination. so falco > falcon (he admires birds and the sky's freedom) zeke > ape (as you explained) zeke's teacher > bipedal goat/sheep (he's timid and kind, from S3 flashback i suppose) some mixture of beast + cart titan properties also resulted in quadruple lizard and crocodile-like beast form. About Annie and Armin, the thing about these two goes back to their trainee days. They are opposite people in a way they admire, Annie is strong, self assured and can be dedicate to herself. While Armin is this scared kid that does everything for his friends, he believes in discussing things, to get an understanding between people, instead of violence, wich is the only thing Annie was taught. They see each other as this person they couldn't be themselves, but admire and wish it that 'strenght' in a way. Armin from season 1 back to the "good person" doesn't really judge Annie for what she did, he rather understand that a person like herself has strong reasons for her actions, again, he search for understanding rather than vengeance and violence like Eren would. I'm gonna add, that the people that Annie killed, are not in any way close to Armin (outside of Marco, wich they learn way later when Armin already has the whole picture), sure commarades, but there aren't personal feelings involved. And Annie has no resentment for Armin for being the one who ratted her out, at this point she has not more than gratitude, admiration and romantic feelings for the one man that never judged her, while Armin never hold a grudge towards Annie (even less now that he killed her people in a greater scale), just admiration and understanding of her cirscuntances. Armin talking all those years, having a confident who doesn't judge, that has a different perspective, it was somehow comforting for him. As for Annie was listening to him. The whole thing is actually beautiful and tragic at the same time. "this world is cruel but beautiful".

A detail a lot of reactors seem to forget about Annie and her motivations is that all the horrible things she did and endured were so she could get back to her father. But right now she believes her father is dead (it happened just after they managed to escape Paradis Island). All her motivation is gone because all the things she did, which she always felt bad about doing (remember how she felt when taking Marco's ODM gear), were basically pointless. While she had a reason to fight she could endure, not anymore.

I also feel like it works (for me at least) because it's Armin and Annie specifically. Talking about what Angelo mentioned, about falling in love with someone who's killed so many of your own, I doubt Jean for example would ever have feelings for someone like Annie. The same thing goes for Connie, or Levi, etc. It only works for Armin because he doesn't really hold grudges, he's very empathetic, so he sees Annie's sins in a way that doesn't stop him from liking her (a feeling both showed in S1 - Annie sparing him, Armin hesitating to call her out, the "good person" dialogue etc.).

Something that doesn't get much attention. When Eren and Armin speaks about freedom and the world they imagined, they always speak about nature; Oceans, weather, biomes, animals. That is why there are so many birds. That seagul reaching the ship as Armin was speaking was to remind that. Eren says the world behind the walls was not what he imagine, because it was full of people that hated eldians without knowing the truth about them. From his point of view, humanity makes it awful, but he wants to purge it so the survivors, his people, learn and make it better. Armin believes that everyone can learn and deserves the chance. Forgiveness and healing is part of rebuilding a better world, where humanity enjoys that world they dreamed about.

“It's as you said, Floch. But we just can't give up...". Hange's words poignantly encompass one of the most important themes of Aot imo. It's been said in the series, notably by Erwin and Kiyomi, that humans will continue to fight one another until the day there's one human or less. Even though the cycle of violence and hatred will always continue, we have to try our best not to perpetuate it and even if we can't, we have to keep trying. And that's exactly what the scouts are trying to do. Because they actually had a hand in furthering the Rumbling by helping Eren get to Zeke. Aot never claimed to be a story about making the right decisions. It's always been about making choices that one thinks they will regret the least. Stopping Eren is a decision that may or may not work out in their favor, but they just don't want to regret not stopping a genocide, which is completely understandable. The scouts represent what the Survey Corps stands for: fighting against insurmountable odds for even the slightest chance of an unrealistic idealist world.

7:00 we discovered another motivation for Eren to start this world apocalypse. As a child, he had a dream of a beautiful endless empty world like in Armin’s book. It was freedom for him. But when he learned in the basement that humanity outside the walls has not perished he was disappointed. He felt that his freedom was stolen. Now when he is wiping out the outer world he feels free as never before. It’s such a selfish motivation, but it shows the depth of Eren’s character. He wants not only to save his people, but he also wants to fulfill his dream.

It means that Eren disappointment started before even knowing the entire situation
@FuzzyDlop Жыл бұрын
Completely incorrect. This is the same brainless, thoughtless take of the classic people who want Eren to be some crazy psychopathic destroyer. It just shows how many people watch AOT without paying any attention. No, Eren didn't want an "endless empty world" and no he's not disappointed because "humanity is still alive, they haven't perished". His disappointment scene/line is directly connected to two scenes in season 3; in season 3, when Historia is about to be coronated, Eren tells Armin that they're going to find freedom in the outside world, that they're going to find the world from his book, the one with fiery water, lands of ice, etc...except he knew that wasn't the truth because he had already seen the memory of Grisha's daughter being devoured by dogs. So Eren knew the outside world wasn't empty and free. Eren is not disappointed because humanity exists outside of the walls but because the very existence of humanity outside of the walls means that Eldians are not free and they are not free to explore the world. Instead there's another threat, which means more fighting. That's directly connected to the last scene of season 3: "If we kill all our enemies across the sea...will we be free then?". It's not a selfish motivation at all and Eren isn't a selfish person. However the very action of pursuing what the world denied them, even after they left the wall, is partially selfish, as Eren is doing it for his friends but also for his both childish and human need/obsession for freedom. But he's not disappointed because he wanted to explore an empty world...that's ridiculous. And of course there's evidence that tells you exactly what he means when he says he's disappointed. "Humanity will never stop fighting itself until it shrinks to a size of one or fewer" - Erwin = If there's humanity outside the wall, we're automatically not free. More hate, more threats, more tatakae = disappointment.

I think annie and armin were hinted at as liking each other in season 1. they also spent multiple years training together and it’s probably why annie let him live as the female titan. also he went and talked to her for four years. also bertholds memories probably make Armin understand her more as a person. yes theres the whole aspect of “how could he ever like her after she killed his comrades” but Armin has never been that type of character. Yea someone like Eren probably would never let that happen but Armin has always been empathetic and wants to understand people. He doesnt seem like the type to hold a grudge something. i do agree that maybe *focusing* on it kind of comes out of nowhere but honestly i liked it. idk it just feels nice to see the characters not be completely miserable for five seconds and it probably makes sense that everyone is being way more emotionally honest with each other during the apocalypse and on their way to stop it.

Keep in mind that at the beginning of this one-hour special chapter Mappa corrected the first chapter of shingeki no kiojin because the adaptation of Wit Studio changed and omitted several things, mainly affecting the character of Mikasa Ackerman. Mappa made this correction due to the importance of Eren and Mikasa's dream for the end of the work. In the first chapter of the manga and at the beginning of this chapter it is understood that the dream that Eren mentions having had is about Mikasa and him. Another example of the changes Wit Studio made is that in chapter six changed Mikasa's tattoo for an embroidery, and removed the bandage from his wrist.

Ange, Carlie! Around 9:40! The attack titan = shingeki no kyojin =進撃の巨人 「進撃」means advancing/charging in the context of a battle rather than attacking specifically, so the nuance is lost in the translation. There isn't much that the translators could've done unfortunately. The "Charging Titan" doesn't sound nearly as good as the "Attack Titan", and it doesn't have the broader meaning that the Japanese word does unfortunately 「の」 means of, 「巨人」 means titan But attack is usually 「攻撃」 not 「進撃」 in Japan. 「攻撃」, 「進撃」 and 「巨人」 are Chinese characters and have meanings on their own. 「進」 means advance forward, go up, improve, etc. 「攻」 means attack, learn 「撃」 means beating, attacking 「攻撃」 means attack. In Japan the attack titan means kogeki no kyojin, means 「攻撃の巨人」 but the creator, Isayama, chose to name it shingeki no kyojin! It is difficult to translate shingeki no kyojin to English. The name of the Titan and the name of the show is: The titan who attacks to advance forward. That Is the more correct meaning.

The thing about the romance is that (this is just my headcanon btw), Armin had a crush on Annie since before the Female Titan debut episode. Why? Because the only person that knows Bertholdt likes Annie besides Reiner (Reiner obviously knew because he's with Bertholdt all the time) is Armin, because Armin is the same as Bertholdt. Armin knew he had a rival straight away bcuz he also likes to stare at Annie just like Bertholdt. 54:15 I think levi is "so fixated" in Zeke because he is also indirectly involved in scout suicide charge in shiganshina arc.. I remembered levi whisper "sorry" when he saw them charging towards the beast titan. He saw zeke throwing rocks enjoying killing his comrades makes him really mad. There is also a scene in the forest where Levi told Zeke that Zeke don't feel any guilt at all and don't value human life. He's "toying" with human life. As for annie, I remember in season 1, levi really mad at female titan for killing scout and even asking her whether she enjoy killing them. So when he saw female titan crying, he really surprised - maybe that's what change his impression on her. Keep on reacting and assume that going forward, I'll be one of the likes on your videos. Also, you guys are some gorgeous people.

I love the romance between Armin and Annie. ❤️ I feel you shouldn’t have such a human story like this that focuses so much on hate and revenge, without also showing the human aspects of love and romance too. Probably could have been handled better overall, but I do love seeing former soldiers on opposite sides coming together to build a loving relationship. The ugly and beautiful parts of humanity.

If you walk while looking back you will trip because you can't see what's ahead of you. Sometimes it takes something crazy to make you realize all your past mistakes. I think everyone is guilty of something but not of the past that had nothing to do with you. A lot of people even in our own world are brainwashed and tethered to the events of the past. Holding people accountable for their ancestors isn't an uncommon thing and I see it all the time today. If a war were to happen right now many would feel the same as Reiner's mother, and the people of Marley realizing that their actions caused the death of everyone. If I knew i was going to die any moment, I'd regret so many things and I'd wish I got to talk to certain people and wonder how some people are doing or if they are okay. I think everything in this show reflects back on real world problems. The thing that happened with Ms. Braun is the same thing that happened with Grisha, only regret and sorrow

Levi places a lot of value in his comrades life and Zeke sees no inherent value in life itself and doesn't regret killing all those scouts and Erwin so it's understandable why levi wants to kill him

The soundtrack for hange’s scene is called Bauklötze, it’s from the scene where wren decides to trust Levi’s squad while being chased by Annie. I think it was only used once so it really hit hard when they brought it back. The scene was a masterpiece

It's one of my fav ost's from aot. I didn't even remember when it was played but I've heard it so many times. And when it started playing after Levi's "give your heart" damn. Really hit hard, tears as soon as the music started goddamn, it was brilliant

Levi is fixated on the Beast Titan because he made a promise to Erwin to kill it in exchange for his life. Right now he feels that Erwin’s death is meaningless as long as he doesn’t fulfill his promise to him to kill the Beast Titan. He doesn’t have the same feelings towards the Female Titan in that regard.
