Momo’s match was quick but it’s a very important moment for her character. You guys were right for thinking it would be a closer match, because I would honestly rank her and Tokoyami as joint 4th/5th strongest in the class. It’s hard to say who would win on any given day. It’s just she panicked here while Tokoyami kept his head.

@@aflo2733 Nah, Momo is in the middle of her self doubt phase here. If it was her from after she overcame it, she would properly respond to him accurately. She can quickly make tons of flash grenades to weaken dark shadow a lot, that alone could let her win the battle.

why would you put them 4th and 5th? They are miles from each other. I do agree Momo can be powerful and has a very useful quirk, but she is nothing against almost all of class unless she is prepared beforehand, specially now when she has done nothing by herself. She is a great supporter as we saw in the villain invasion and cavalry battles, but not at all a fighter. Even if she was what is basically a 3D printer gonna do against: he guy that does explosions capable of tearing a building, the one that just like that can create a stadium wide wall of ice, the guy that can run faster then a F1 car, the girl that sweats acid and the guy that can just summon a shadow to fight for him while keeping a safe distance?? I'm even ready to day that she is the weakest of the class in terms of combat, aside maybe Hagakure, Koda and maybe Sado (yes even Mineta probably could win against her at this point, since he just has to put some balls on the field and she has no way to escape, and he can create them far faster then she appears at this point capable of creating whatever thing. Also he has a great mobility with them since they dont stick to him and actually bounce). Again great quirk, crazy useful and I would dream of having it, but in terms of combat she is pretty much useless, unless she prepares before. No enemy is gonna wait for her to create a sword.

I don't know if you noticed it but Ibara, the girl always praying and bathed in heavenly light, has a literal crown of thorns in her hair. Also the thing about Momo is that she's an incredible hero, but she's just not as good 1v1 as other powers. With just 1 other person to give her time to set up something big and powerful, or to give utility to, she's top tier. But especially early on before she's had much combat experience she isn't able to do as much in a 1v1 against someone with a combat oriented power.

For those who think Deku's plan doesn't make sense, Mei's gadgets make her float like a hummingbird in the air, not just propel her like a jet. It's easier to control trajectories in zero gravity using that. Uraraka doesn't even use zero gravity on everyone, not on Deku at least. They need weight to stabilize the group in the air. Just like when she does the race challenge in the first day of U.A., she only uses zero gravity on parts of her body, that's because she knows she needs weight to stabilize her body. Now compare that to Bakugou, his quirk is explosion and he never uses it with zero weight. One blast can send him off balance and that opens an opportunity for Uraraka to plan her next move, like tricking Bakugou into attacking/chasing her. Anyway, i still think Bakugou would win the match either way though. He's smart, quick thinker and has great battle skills, but my point is, Deku's plan makes sense.

I like Yaoyorozu but realistically, her quirk is by far the one weakest and with the biggest amount of weaknesses. Her quirk looks useful at first glance but in my opinion, in reality she's pretty much a quirkless girl using objects to fight against literal super humans when enhanced physical abilities like super strenght, defense, speed, instant activation long range attacks, quirks that can affect the mind/senses and quirks that can straight up terraform the enviroment .

dekus plan made no sense from the start. its a clear plothole. they make it seem like uraraka touching bakugo is a one hit insta finish move... making BAKUGO float of all people, someone whos already shown to have great arial control. ppl have argued that bakugo will not be used to the effects of zerogravity and blow himself out of bounds. that logic doesnt stand in the first place cus in the cavalry battle, uraraka herself used her quirk on the rest of the team to allow them to move easier. and from the very start, bakugo simply couldve pushed her off in one fell blast. even with plot armor, the best she couldve come up with is the plan she made
