I bought the Jim Green razorback steel toe after seeing Rose anvils tear down and haven't looked back. I take them everywhere from work, hiking, or casually walking around. They have by far been the best price to peformamce boots i've had.

I find them way too hard and heavy for hiking. It just feels like it doesn't over any stability. On concrete once again the outsole is very rigid. That being said, what kind of trails do you hike? In my case it's a mix of plenty rocks, some dirt and plenty tree roots.

I've got the steel toe razorbacks for my work where they meet sharp metal, metal dust & shavings, plus lots of oil and sludge. I've had them since November and they're holding up way better than any other boot around the $200 range. Definitely going to keep buying Jim Green.

They were kind of my gateway boot to the better boot world, before you know it, you're asking the wife for your own boot rack for the Grant Stones, Chisos, Tecovas, Thursdays and Nicks you're adding to your collection.

The hate is from just them being so successful in what they do. Thursday boots are awesome for its price. Sure, Indonesian brands are way better in the same price for their MTOs, but I wouldn't be in this game without Thursday. I still love my brown Captains today, and I feel happy when I wear them. That's what it's all about at the end of the day right?

Being a Minnesotan, I always wanted Red Wing boots. The pair I bought were pretty comfortable, but the soles turned into hockey pucks when it got cold, making them very slippery. Upgraded to a pair of Whites, then got a pair of Nicks... I wear the nicks almost daily, swap in the Whites occasionally. Not sure I'll ever buy a boot at a store again. I have very narrow feet and store boots are too wide. Having these custom measured and built was a life changing experience. Yes... They are expensive. But not when you consider how long they last, they can be rebuilt many times... I think in the long run, they're actually less expensive than buying many pairs of cheap boots that aren't comfortable and don't last very long. I encourage everyone to save up and try a pair of custom sized high quality boots. Especially if you need them every day.

I spent 20+ years in wolverine, ariat, Redwing, and others. Never had a pair last over 1 year, I would wear the toes off in 4 months. Eventually I got plantar fascaitse and the pain was unreal. I had to wear sneakers for months to get over that. Then I found Carl's channel and he told me about Nick's boots. I bought a pair of builder pros and they have changed my life! The solid foot bed and arch support are incredible. I've had them 6 months now and they are barely broken in and show almost no wear at all. The way they support my ankle and foot has made my back pain stop as well. You think you need soft soles but they are killing your back. I feel like my feet aren't trying to balance me on every step now they just land correctly and solid. The quality of materials and build is just unbelievable. I can see these lasting many years and I love to put them on every day. Guys listen to Carl he speaks the truth, your body is worth every penny you can spend on it. Boots is not the place to save money, wich you won't anyways when they last months. It's one of those things that takes while to catch you and sink in. Be smart and look out for your money maker you only get one. CARL THANK YOU!!! We love ya man keep em coming!

As an electrician I can say I have bought wolverines redwing and Georgia boots with EH as a must. But last pair of boots I bought was a Arita boot and I think I have found my new go to boot! For only $180 it’s been awesome and lasted very well the last 14 months! I appreciate your advice and feedback on this Chanel so keep up the good work!

I wore Keens for years but after several pairs fell apart in months I tried Jim Greens. I will never own another pair of keens again. Jim Greens are my new go-to boots.

Jim Green Rangers are excellent. I've got the regular ones, & plan to try the barefoot &/or 8 inch versions this year. I've also had great Danner boots. My least comfortable boots ever were Cat's (Caterpillar brand steel toe).

I bought a pair of Origins fall 2022 and wore them all winter. Started off happy but the tongue is gussetted with the eyelet instead of a stitch. It pulled out and began cutting my socks and feet. This fall I switched to Jim Green Razorbacks and I am so so happy. Very wide for my ugly feet and love the construction. Only change I'd like to make is an ice grip sole

I would consider adding Frye to the list. My first pair of "nice" boots were Fryes from 15 years ago. They were outstanding, I still love them. I have purchased and returned three other pairs in an attempt to buy another of my old favorites. Its way more expensive but it is better to save up for Wesco, Nicks, or Red Wing.

So interesting that you mention Siete Leguas. I live in Mexico and have been getting into better boots over the last couple of years. Siete Leguas makes great boots for normal people that don't want to spend $500+ on their boots😉. They started as a western boot company so their chelsea boots and zipper boots kind of reflect that, which is interesting. I have a cool pair of their zipper boots. I also have a pair of their hiker/chukkas, which are WONDERFUL. Most of their "Haiker" line has synthetic liners but their chukkas have traditional pig skin liners. I grabbed a pair of wheat nubuck ones on sale for about 40 bucks!!!

Got my first pair of Thursday Captains in 2019. Worn everyday for 3 years. After that I bought 7 pairs of various boots and they went into rotation. I'm still wearing them today. They could definitely use a resole, but they're in great shape and still look good.

Carl, thanks for the music recommendation for Hum the other day. Listened to them while working last night. Bought “Electra2000” & “You’d prefer an Astronaut”. I somehow lived through the 90s and 2000s and had never heard them. I also recently got a pair of Thorogood Steel toed mocs on discount in Wisconsin. I went to college in Nashville back then, and the "6 labels" were the gatekeepers to what got pressed and not, so we had literally every aspiring band through the local clubs at some point. Almost 30 years later, their show at Exit/In that I went to on a whim remains burned into my brain. So many great tracks from that 1st record. "Old man," "Robins," "Pod" and the haunting chords of "I Hate it Too." Their sound was just a little off the mainstream for them to hit it big. I think that's why there's still pockets of mad love out there for them. Did not so they were back making music, off to check it out. Thanks! I last month bought a pair of R Watson steel toe boots... they have been comfortable for the most part and wear better than any 200+ dollar boot I have owned... I work in the tire industry and work on mine and commercial equipment so I am on payment and rock and dirt and so fourth... love these last pair and would definitely buy another

My #1 "would avoid" boot is the Timberland premiums. I bought a pair on a steep discount through my old job, even after having seen Rose Anvil say they were pretty much not worth it. The main draw for me was price, but I definitely needed something fairly water-resistant with a lugged sole and preferably a gusseted tongue; that also wouldn't fall apart after a month or two. (Which to their credit, they're holding up pretty well). The main and really only issue I have is how uncomfortable they are at the end of a long day having walked 5+ miles during my shift. I've tried different insoles, cushioned wool socks, etc etc and they kill me after a long day. I really want a pair of Jim Greens even more after dealing with wearing these trash-ass Timbs all day every day. Oh and, Jim Greens tend to retail for the same or even less money than Timbs lol.

I was a Timberland Pro guy for years because I live in New England and appreciate the insulation. I still own a pair that is at least 15 years old that are still waterproof, but I use them to shovel snow these days! Modern ones are junk though! I'm now a Jim Green guy, picked up my first pair in 2021 after Carl's review. Now I own 6 pairs 😂. Great boots

I'm in England, on the Northamptonshire borders, got all the classic England shoes and boot makers, Crockett and Jones and Trickers, Cheaney, within 30 miles away, buy at the factory shops, at great prices and unbelievable quality. Another great boot is Australian brand Ian Harold, personally i prefer mine to the RM Williams i had before, and a third cheaper

My most comfortable boots: White's Perry Boots. Comfortable from day one. I'm retired so I can't judge the "workboot" aspect. But for hiking and walking the border collies, everyday wear, these are great! Mine still look new EXCEPT for that junk Vibram Christy sole. Very comfortable sole but wears down like wet chalk. Most uncomfortable boots I have EVER owned: Jim Green Mens Stockman Slip On Boots. Soles have almost no flex. It's like strapping a 2 by 4 on your foot. The boots started out so tight they decreased the circulation in my feet. Now, they are so loose that my feet swim in them. Jim Green's answer was to buy different insoles. I now have 2 insoles in each boot (the original thin Jim Green insole and an expensive Spenco Polysorb Walker/Runner Athletic Insole. I spent over $100 on different insoles trying to get a good fit in these $150 boots! The toe box is really wide, but for my D width feet, they slide side to side when I walk. The exterior is great. They seem to be very water resistant. Now I only wear them to mow the lawn and to walk the dogs on really wet/messy days. An hour of wear is all my feet can stand. Jim Green builds them like tanks, but the comfort level sucks!!

CW: I think your input is pretty good and useful, just keep in mind that every review out there isn't necessarily good. I swear, I have never seen more hopeless people than in recent years, especially when it comes to leather boots. Most of these younger folks today have NO CLUE how to care for leather, and what's worse is they often have ridiculous expectations. I think channels like yours helps to keep things on point for all the people out there who literally have no idea.

Very interesting to read the comments, not neing a boot guy myself. A couple of years ago, I finally decided that in Illinois I need boots for the wet seasons. I purchased Sperry ankle boots. They are orange and look like a brushed suade. Rubber bottoms. Also, L.L. Bean navy ankle boots. They also look like brushed suade. They have a rubber bottom. Both are perfect to wear outdoors in nasty weather. Both work very well for what I do,being that I am retired. Thank you for your video and thanks to all of the commentators.

I’ve had a few pairs of boots over the years. I can usually tolerate some lousy designs, but for some reason cemented sole construction and my foot do not get along. I had a pair of “John Deere” boots made by Dan Post that fell apart in three months. A set of Keen steel toes made it 8 months before I literally walked the sole off of it and the outsole separated from the midsole a mile from the truck. Lacrosse boots used to be awesome, I owned a pair of LaGrange boots and they held up for 15 years in the toolbox of the pickup getting worn when needed. They eventually started to dry rot and developed cracks. I replaced them with a pair of LaCrosse Burly with the foam insulation. They lasted a whopping year before they cracked at the sole and started leaking. I’ve learned my lessons you either spend a little extra or pay the price. I’ve got a set of Franks’s Patriots I absolutely love for in the woods. I wear a Wolverine 1000 mile or Red Wing Iron Ranger in the office. If I need a steel toe I have a pair of Thorogood’s that have held up great over the years, however, they are now so high priced I’m considering spending a little extra and going to a JK 300 next time, but that’s probably a year or two out since they don’t get everyday wear.

Some of the best boots I own have been Keen. I wore a pair of Keen Targa's for over 8 years before having to replace them. I have since add an 8" insulated hunting boot which is another winner. The last thing I love is that they are available in size 14 US.

@@realsharpknives7988 no I am definitely not "abusing" them. What would you even call abuse on a hiking shoe that is advertised as being durable for extreme use such as hiking? I owned keens for 15 years and these issues only arose in the past 4 or so years. The past 3 pairs of keen hikers I have owned the glue on the sole separates and the soles fall off well before the tread is worn through. Not only did I notice these issues in my targee boots but also the composite toe keen workboots I had as well. The materials they use to build them are not as good of quality as they used to be. I am very impressed with the material and build quality of my Jim Green razorbacks which are way more well built then any keen boot I have ever owned. The Jim Greens have a wide toebox like the keens so they are very comfortable for my foot shape. They use a stitch-down leather construction which is way better than keens cheap rubber glued to eva foam.

I bought some Doc Martins about 5 years ago because they were on sale. I was aware that they had a bad name for quality so I wasn't expecting much. After years of daily wear they are still going strong. I even had a car roll over my foot at traffic lights (I ride a motorcycle). No broken toes.

Solid picks. I’d add Keen to the don’t buy list, they’re comfortable but lately they fall to pieces far too quick for the price. Brunt, rock rooster and all the cheap Amazon crap is not worth the money. I did however get a pair of carhartt moc toe boots and they’re surprisingly solid and comfortable. I figured they’d blow out in a year or so but I got them in 2020 and they’re still comfortable and are handling heavy use well.

Been wearing my Jim Green AR8s all winter and so far they are amazing. No foot pain, sturdy as heck, no snow getting inside with that fully gusseted tongue. 100% would recommend the AR8s to anyone looking for a solid af boot. Love my Thursdays too. I own 5 pairs from them and they are all awesome.

@@tericottaclay9462 i just got the regular lug outsole (looks like a vibram). Been nice and sturdy in the snow. Ice is a different story. Any boot outsole is slippery on ice lol, unless you got spikes. But i have yet to slip and fall this winter.

I have been using Brunt's since September. I changed the insole to a custom insole and they are quite comfortable and have held up well. I'm a commercial electrician, so they don't take a huge beating, but I put a moderate amount of use into them. I'm not a Brunt fanboy, just sharing my experience.

Came here looking for a comment like yours. I have been wearing black lined Marins since around August, and do electric motor mechanic/service work. Also not super rough on them, but I feel like they have been holding up great. My only complaint is that they are lined, and end up being rather warm some days.

@carlmurawski Also, I´m from Mexico and I have a brand called "JACA" that makes GYW boots and have also great quality. 7 Leguas are the king of "quality" boots in Mexico, they're really good and durable as hell, we make great footwear in León Guanajuato; the downside is that the "Haiker" model which I own, has a synthetic cloth lining which makes it super comfy but I would have prefered a leather lining.

I have a pair of Georgia Boot AMP LT Wedge Chelsea Work Boots. Every time I wear these boots, I sprain my ankle. I can't feel the sprain until later in the day or the next morning. Because I have boots more on less on daily rotation based on a couple factors such as primary task and weather, it took me a couple months to correlate the recurring injury to the footwear. At the time, I fought my urge to just throw the boots in the trash. Last week, I came across these boots in my long term storage--with snow boots et cetera. I thought, "Oh wow I should wear these!" After I cleaned and oiled the boots, the day after I wore them, I woke up the next day to a sprained ankle. The sprain is light enough that it doesn't totally immobilize me, but it slows me down significantly and I often have to brace or wrap my ankle. No boot should injure the wearer--ever. I do not have experience with any other Georgia Boots. They appear to be a basic budget boot in terms of quality. The outsoles are of compound materials, and one part on the ball of the foot is de-laminating with only medium use; some contact cement of shoe goo would probably arrest this problem. The AMP LT Wedge Chelseas are pretty comfortable and easy to put on/take off. I think my problem might be caused by the height of my angle from the ground when wearing the boots--it's higher than a "normal" wedge like a Thorogood or Carolina AND the thick foam insole adds additional height to that. To that height creating leverage on my ankle subtract any substantial support since these are slip on chelsea-style boots. I think these mechanical forces are probably wrecking havoc on my right foot, causing inflammation and stiffness in addition to the sharp pain the next day. Note that I had a pair of Keen chelsea-style slip on boots for many years that did not cause a problem like this. Those boots were not wedge soled, nor were my ankles very elevated off the boot when I wore them. I have a pair of Thorogood lace up wedges that wear just fine, again, my ankles are not so elevated in the Thorogood. (I am not promoting Thorogood over Georgia Boot here. Frankly, I am not happy with the Thorogood company for continuing the raise their prices while neglecting to improve their construction. Thorogood needs to eliminate their rubber/plastic welts. Those cheeseheads can kiss my ass until they change designs). Back to the Georgia Boot: This might be an individual peculiarity based on my gait, age, weight, et cetera. My advice is to be aware of the store policy and condition of the boots required to make a return should you be interested in buying a pair of Georgia Boot AMP LT Wedge Chelsea Work Boots.

I have Thursdays Captains. Black (not matte) and they are a bit cramped in the toes. I don’t typically have to buy wide style footwear, but probably should have in this case. The distressing in this particular style isn’t my favorite either. After a year I broke down and bought Redwing Blacksmiths. The perfect amount of movement as long as you aren’t wearing thick socks. Breaking period takes some time and patience. But I am a buy once cry once type of guy so the extra $$ is worth it to me. Also own Red Wing Iron Rangers and am very pleased.

I have the rock rooster pair you mentioned in the video. The insole is so thick that I have to either wear them without it or use a thinner insert from other companies, otherwise I cannot put my feet in. I only wear it for the workwear look while commuting. The only issue I have are the laces. They get loosen really easily.

Another option is the Wolverine Men's I-90 DuraShocks Moc Toe Work Boot. Tape up your heel first couple of wears the counter cover is like sandpaper at first. But these things have so much squish and bounce. Now its def not resoleable. But as a after work boot this thing is incredible. Ive done a whole summer in Europe walking miles a day in these things.... This is the one boot with Function, Style but no resoleability so theres that lol..

Fortunately I am one of those people that researches the hell outta everything. My first boot in the electrical trade were Thorogood Moc Toes with the wedge sole. Good boot but over time the weight of the steel toe was fatiguing my legs. I eventually replaced them with some Ariat Workhog XT with the carbon toe. Another good boot, but wish the shaft was narrower. No longer in the field nearly as much but when I am I still use those Ariats or a pair of Danner Tactical boots in tan suede with a comp toe. In the office I’ll wear one of 2 Thursday Western boots (Desperado in AZ Adobe & Maverick in Anejo), my Tecovas Roy (Taupe Suede), Thursday Presidents in Mocha Suede, Danner Skyridge (in Flat Dark Earth) or my Wolverine 1000 mile (these are actually my least comfortable boots). Worst boots in recent memory are a pair of Golden Fox Boondocker in tan suede. Not they are terrible, but the weight ratios between the upper & sole are so lopsided & the soles feel so damn heavy compared to the upper.

My red wing 411s started out as the most comfortable boots i ever owned but quickly turned into the least comfortable. They gave me the most foot pain I’ve ever had after only a couple months of wear. I guess they use too many synthetic materials and they break down like sneakers instead of breaking IN like good boots. That’s what sucks so bad about synthetic materials. They’re deceivingly awesome in the beginning. I agree the Jim green razorbacks and also vellies are great but hard on the insoles so I needed leather insoles being a heavier guy. Opted for nicks veg tan insoles and once I got those in there they’re great. Also great point about footwear affecting your whole body. I’ve always loved the look of dr martens (obviously not for real work) but they always destroyed my back every single time I wore them. Same with cowboy boots.

I would add Twisted X to the list of not buy. I work on the road. I had a pair for 3 months and they had holes in the side of toe on one and in the front of the toe on the other. I bought some Timberland Pros from your other video based on your recommendation and I am happy with them.

Red wing worx with external metatarsal guards. The met guards fell off. I had to warrenty them twice before getting some 4436 red wings. Luckily red wing had great customer service and put the value of the first pair towards these.

I've had the best Rock Rooster boots, the AP611/VAP611, for about 4 years now, I think. Need to replace the insole and there are holes opening up in the counter cover, but the boot has otherwise held up quite nicely. I also bought some of their Chelsea boots. The chelseas aren't sized at all the same to their lace-ups and I had to return them under warranty after wearing them to work twice when the entire counter cover tore out on one side. My wool socks shouldn't be rough enough to eat through something after walking 6 or 7 miles.

I bought a pair of bramas also for similar reasons. Was going to a job and realized I forgot my boots at home. Found a Walmart and got the cheapest boots for the one day of use. I could only recommend them for that. Maybe worth keeping as an emergency pair in your truck for you or a buddy if you forget your boots. Also ok for at home concrete work so you can just throw them out when your project is done.

I'm an old guy and I'm also a boot guy, and have been for 40 plus years. I remember when Herman Survivors were a quality boot, maybe back in the early 80s. I still have several pairs of my old boots from the 80s and 90s, I rarely wear them but I can't get rid of them. I still have a pair of Chippewa minus 40s from the 80s, LL Beans from the early 90s, and a pair of early 90s moc toe Irish Setters. Today I wear Thorogood 8" 1957 flyways. I wear them year round, but wear them 6 - 7 days a week from October - April. I feel like they're going to last a long time but maybe not as comfortable as my old Irish Setters. They seem to be getting better with time and I really like the look of them. I wear them on construction sites, hunting, and out to dinner. My wife knows it's a waste of time to ask me to wear dress shoes, I'm a boot guy. Before the Thorogoods, I wore Justin lace-up work boots and I still break them out a few times each month. I actually like them, they're really broke in and I have nothing negative to say about them. I take really good care of my boots and I guess that's one reason I get many years of use out of them.

For me, the RedBacks are a no-go. The boots themselves are very comfy, but the customer service was atrocious. I bought 2 identical pairs in different colors, and one pair fit way too tight. When I reached out to RedBack directly, they told me that because I bought them on Amazon, they would not help, and even scolded me more or less. I returned both pairs and have been super happy with 2 pairs of Ariat Turbo Chelsea H20s I have been wearing for almost 3 years, though made in China. I have a pair of Nicks Chelseas on order for months now, looking forward to them (though not the break in).

A top ten list of boots that are comfortable to stand in for 8-12 hours a day would be nice. Maybe you have something like that, and I missed it because there are a lot of videos to go through, lol. Leather footbed boots, to me, don't feel nice underfoot for long periods of time. I think half a dozen pairs of heritage boots in I have learned that I need something that has a soft squishy insert, lol.

Lems is a great company that makes great boots for what they are. But, as much as it hurts to say it, I'd put them on this list now that their prices have gone up so much. A barefoot boot is essentially a protective sack. It's very difficult to justify paying close to the price of a pair of Thursdays for them, when you compare what you're getting. The product seems worth about half what they charge for it.

Ive worn Merril work boots for years because they are so comfortable,,,until I bought the Merril tactical. Being retired now, I work around yard not construction. The tacticals were fine for maybe six months. Then I noticed the webbing on the toe starting ti splint and stitching coming apart. Then my feet started to get painful along with severe knee pain. Keep in mind this is just working in the yard! No more Merrils, thats why Im looking on this site!

I hate to admit it, but I tried Rock Roosters and Brunt work boots. I truly did this because they were doing plenty of advertising on soical media. The brunt boots I had for a day and returned them. I will at least say the return & reimbursement was very hassle free. The Rock Roosters I still have at my office at work, but have only wore them for a little bit because they completely tore up my feet. I keep them in the office just incase someone forgets there boots. There is a reason why certain work boot brand have been around for a long time, even if there quality has changed over time. I feel like once you find a brand that fits your needs you tend to stick with them. Personally I am a big Carolina Birch Logger boot fan! Works great for me on the ever changing excavation sites in the Cleveland, Ohio area!

I was in a warehouse, and the rock roosters (non waterproof version) were the most comfortable boot I’ve tried by far, but I also stuffed like three insoles inside of them. I’ve tried redwing supersole 2.0s (with custom insoles put in, the redwing traction tread lite, and the Jim green African ranger. Most of the other boots would keep me comfortable to about the 10 hour mark at best, but the rock rooster only started feeling uncomfortable at the 14 hour mark (I’ve only hit that a few times). As for what my job entailed, according to fitness trackers I would walk 20+ miles in a standard 12 hour day (coworkers Apple Watches also agreed with that number) and that was usually while carrying 40-60lbs of stuff with 100+lbs also not being that rare.

It seems rare to find anyone talking good about the Brunts unless it is some sort of paid thing. That Siete Leguas looks like a Patron boot. Patron boots are also made in mexico and at the moment are only available on ebay as some one has to go to mexico and buy them and bring them to the USA and sell them. Although there is also silver bull that are made in mexico that look like those as well and again are also made in mexico and have a usa site. Silver bull has a lot of styles on there site and a lot of sub brands. Oh portland leather, ya I bought one of them because the ads made them sound great and there was a few videos making them sound good as well and this was before rose anvil made a video about them. I would not recommend them either. They feel cheap. they are my least warn boot. I also have a pair of thursday boots. I love them. Another brand that I like just as much that look like a thursday boot is Old mulla. I love Old mulla but I put them on par with thursday. I even made a video kind of comparing them. I have a few rockroosters as well. the first pair I bought caused major blisters on my feet but after rose anvil pushed them a bit more I tried them again and I still kind of have to push my self to wear them. However I love the insoles seems that is the best part of the boot. I even just went to rockrooster and bought several pairs of the insoles and put them in a few other shoes. Also what is strange about rockrooster is there are fakes of them. A brand called Handpoint ( found on amozon and ebay) make fakes of them. Although I almost think hand point boots are actually better than rockrooster but I hate the insoles that hand point has. The hand point insoles are junk. Speaking of jim green I love mine and my jim greens have rock rooster insoles in them. I didn't like the insoles that came with the jim green. My favorite pair of jim green are the barefoot version. As this is long and I was making it as I was watching I will make another comment with my list of boots I do not like that you have not mentioned in this video.

Last year I bought a pair of boots from Academy, I believe it was the house brand, Tactical Performance. They're okay for a budget, haven't worn boots since the late 2000's when I had a pair of Red Wings my brother gave me. I got them for a metal festival in November and I wore them a while to break them in. So I was not used to them but I managed to withstand the weekend, but they're not waterproof, but you can resole them, which I should do soon. Any good soles to switch for?

I would add the entry / lower level Tim's to the list. My first pair I loved, maybe not the best boots but I got a number of year out of them. Second pair I got were terrible. Fit wasn't good, QC was bad and in all honesty I got more out of cheapo pair of Kmart workboots than I ever did out of them. I know they do make some quality footware but that's my experience.

I have a pair of rock rooster comp toe but they’re not the vibrum sole ones they’re mock toe with the foam sole with the rubber attached to it and while I did have some quality control issues (the boots weren’t the same the look to the moc toe was slightly off and what not like they hadn’t been lasted right maybe?) but the customer service sucked and I just kept them, i work in a warehouse building store front frames so I’m also not too hard on boots but I’ve had them 2 1/2 years, and they’re fine for me, and I really like the rubber on the sole because I hate the way vibrum wedge soles round off and wear away so quickly. That being said I got a new job that reimburses for boots so I think I’m going to get some red back Chelsea boots next

The best work boot I have is the JK 300 and a close 2nd Thorogood Mock Toe American Heritage. As far as work boots and being on my feet all day, you get what you pay for.

Keens we’re great for a short while but wore out very fast, basically fell apart. Merrill Moab we’re great for a short while, breathed very well which was great while working in extreme power plant temperatures. I’ve been very happy with jk superdutys on the farm and thorogoods have been excellent at millstone primarily walking long distances on steel grating and concrete. I think thorogoods would be the only non hand crafted boot I would buy again aside from muck boots.

I wear 5.11 8” atac’s for work. They have been good to me. I have to get a pair every 8 months or so due to pesticides eating away at them but sometimes they go about a year. I did have a random pair of Swiss tech boots that I had for probably nearly 8 years until the sole finally fell off. Brahmas are the absolute worst.

Anything Carhartt or Chippewa in any of their styles, especially loggers, I will not wear. The company I work for buys us boots once a year and those are the two choices they offer. Instead, I save up and buy my own.
