In July 2014, White's Boots was sold to LaCrosse Footwear of Portland, Oregon, which also owns Danner Boots. LaCrosse Footwear's chief financial officer, Kirk Layton, cited the made-in-America heritage of White's Boots as a motivating factor for the buyout. LaCrosse Footwear is itself owned by Tokyo-based retailer ABC-Mart.[5] Wikipedia

In regards to the jim green razorback, and only because sizing was mentioned, i think people need to be aware of something. YES, the razorbacks last is wider (jim green doesnt offer "wides" persay) but, it is also more shallow than the African Rangers last. So, if you have bolbous toes such as myself, it almost feels as if your toes are in a panini press (soooo... they werent for me) BUT, if your feet arent ultra wide, you can order them in STC last for added volume, albeit slightly narrower. And, if you heed the extra width, just go half size up. Their custom program is pretty bonkers tbh, and very user-friendly

$900 for a pair of boots?. Everything is relative, if premium boots are important to you and, if you can afford it, having the best or most unique of something makes sense to me. I’m a banjo picker and have found my way to having several banjos, each quite unique in their own class. Having $20,000 worth of banjos may seem extravagant but, I can afford it and they make me happy. Go for it Carl.

I didn't expect you to pull out the Limmers. A few months ago I signed up my wife and I for the 2.5 year waiting list for custom hikers. We've always wanted to go to New England, so I figured it'll be a nice trip and at the same time to get fit for a perfect fitting hiking shoe that will last the rest of our lives.

2.5 year waiting list? My boots size changed two sizes and from D to EE width during the similar timeframe. And I’m in my late thirties
@bruceh593314 күн бұрын
@@kosta2177 the 2.5 years is just for the wait where you go to New Hamshire for the fitting, the boot making is only 3-4 months after that. It’s really just for the experience, from all accounts I’ve read they make great boots that are non-custom.

Thanks for the video, great info. It reminds me of every time I've become an amateur connoisseur in a category. I remember going through a boot phase back in the late '70s and ended up thinking that yellowish greenish crocodile (contraband) cowboy boots where the cat's meow! I also remember being so proud of my, Not one but two pairs, Allen Edmonds pigskin chukkas. I couldn't understand how my friends and fiance could think they were ugly! To think that your number one choice in boots is in any way appealing to the masses takes the twisted mind of someone who has gone way too far down a boot rabbit hole! Having said that, I found myself looking up each of your favorites on eBay and actually ordered a pair of the Allen Edmonds Odenwald, and made a reasonable offer on those Russell Zephyrs! Still looking for some of the others in my size... 😅

My Truman boots were found in pieces on the floor, they apparently owed money to Carl's Nail Shanks. 😂 Appreciate you showing the Builder Pros, but man that pair in the Wickett and Craig DS Slate, the single piece back stay, and the Honey Vibram sole are absolute knockouts. I know you weren't real happy with the stitching and finishing on them though. Bordon continues to impress and pass every test that is thrown at them, including a recent teardown from Wyatt and Dad cobblers. If MITUSA isn't a top priority for you I can't see much that's better dollar-for-dollar. With their latest batch they are slumming it using... WoreHween Cinnamon Waxed Flesh. They definitely don't skimp where it counts, if only(Normal unknown dudes) could get them in less than a year. I know, good things yake time, yeah yeah.😆 Grant Stone is awesome, and should be on everyone's list as Carl says. Unless you wear above a size 13, in which case you can literally just forget about them since they have zero product offerings above that size. Suckage for the Sasquatch crew... Many thanks Carl, we appreciate you time putting these together for us. Best wishes this fall!
