I am 62 and a long time drummer. I come from his 80's rock era. Opened for Motorhead and Motley Crue back in the day. Have seen so many guys that had success back in the day still at it playing in a little bar or county fair at best. I just couldn't deal with let down, disappointment, and humiliation of playing a real "show" to now some little bar with no one listening to you play.

They all agree and John Mclaughlin said it best in that they have no idea what Allan is doing, if they could figure it out, they'd steal it! Actually in the early sixties, as Carlos said 1962, they made the Les Paul Jr as a double cutaway SG design, they later went to the single cutaway and the SG design ended up being the SG and the Les Paul Junior then became it's own entity.

Cavazo knows what he’s taking about. The SG was originally called a “Les Paul,”but Les Paul, himself, who was not involved in the design, disliked the design and demanded his name removed from it. Gibson removed his name from the model after 1963 and called it the “SG.”
