By far the most entertaining intellectual to listen to. It is impossible to be bored by her.

She says "if something bores you, it is because you are boring!" Very true!

We need minds like this, across cultures, across genders. I don't agree with everything she posits, but we need minds this capable and flexible.

I have a lot of respect for her.....brilliant mind that has an abiding allegiance to realism and truth...

She's the antidote to our sound byte, simple culture of for and against. I love her.

Camille Paglia is one of my favorite people in the world. Cuttingly incisive, witty and erudite, profoundly insightful, her analysis of culture society and the arts is matchless and without peer.

The moderator approaches making a good point where he points out that there is a bit of condescension in her comparisons where the best icons came before. But her response to this is well-reasoned and compelling.
@BarrettWolfe4 жыл бұрын
Current icons are not as talented as the people who came before, there is no comparison.

Celebrities now are basically manufactured PR products rather than independent creative artists - I think she makes this point elsewhere in the contexts of The Stones vs contemporary music.

She can certainly talk for the Olympics. No regard for the format of the talk lol What a woman. Should be looked to as a role model.

a big fan of hers,. but she should have at least tried to slow down speaking when speaking in front of a foreign (Brazilian) audience.(as hard as this may be for her to do)

i’m now in my camille period: reading everything she’s ever written; listening to these type of events where she spoke. can’t get enough of her. love her. She’s wrong on the gay issue by the way: it’s totally inborn. How sad that such an intelligent thinker has got that issue so wrong

She’s smart and i love her. But she’s TOTALLY wrong about the natural (& genetic) origins of homosexuality and exclusive homosexuality. There IS exclusive homosexuality (& heterosexuality); and there ARE genes associated with homosexuality but more importantly there are prenatal conditions in the womb which predispose the fetus to homosexuality. And it’s been hypothesized that populations with a small percentage of homosexuals within them (who support communal efforts but do not compete for mating partners or other resources) are much fitter for survival. Homosexuality IS natural, it CAN be exclusive, and homosexuals ARE born this way and Gaga IS correct on that issue.
