I've heard about Mencia stealing jokes, that's not the crime. The crime is other comedians are passed bc they didn't get that many laughs. It's not so much about the content, it's the delivery. That's where the difference is. Someone said they have heard comedians tell the same jokes, a word here or there is changed, but it's all about the delivery.

I've been going to the Comedy Store in Hollywood since 1986 and I can tell you that, throughout the years, I've heard the same material from different comedians all the time. I first saw Carlos Mencia in 1992 shortly after the April 1992 Los Angeles Riots. He was still using his real name. He brought the house down. Sam Kinison was another memorable comedian.
