Dude. Imagine one day you get to tell your grandkids that you played MAGGOT BRAIN live with CARLOS FREAKIN SANTANA when you were a boy. What a life we've been able to witness in Lage.

Child prodigies have a tendency to burn out. Julian Lage has become a modern legend. He's inventing a completely new school of guitar and already introduced a whole new lexicon of educational material before he even hit 30. Check out his "Study for Electric Guitar"

Such great memories. I was there that night. Maggot Brain was the 1st album I ever bought and I never heard it covered by anyone. Hearing Carlos and Julian play It almost brought tears to my eyes. Love that song. Eddie Hazel lives on forever.

My dad told me about this recording but I didn’t realize it was this tune. After learning George Clinton was from the same area as me (I live in Charlotte and he’s from Kannapolis right above us) I have a newfound connection to this tune. Right on Julian!

Damn! Julian Lage started off playing classic rock but now he plays mostly jazz with the Julian Lage Trio just can't get into anything he does now unwatchable for me anyway. First seen him thought he could be the next Stevie Ray Vaughn, David Gilmour,or the guy he was playing with Santana,
@CarlosRivera-ls2ep6 жыл бұрын
Are you fucking kidding me. His playing now in any musical setting he does is in incredible and you can see/hear how he's grown exponentially as a musician. The fact you put the words "Julian Lage" and "unwatchable" in the same sentence....
@phish15 жыл бұрын
He's become a musical genius. Would have been a travesty for him to just stick to rock music. And i love rock, but he would only be able to take it so far. The stuff he's doing these days is off the charts, and has a rock element to it.
@SerpenteMacaco5 жыл бұрын
There are so many people playing like SRV or Gilmour already. The world would be worse off without Julian's original and authentic playing
@connorclose30845 жыл бұрын
lmao you think it’s a bad thing that this kid grew up to be one of the most (if not the most) creative, talented guitarists of our generation bc he didn’t stick to classic rock music?? i love stevie ray as much as the next guy but god damn julian lage is on a whole nother level, and i think stevie and the rest of them would agree
@a.nobodys.nobody23 күн бұрын
He's way better than any of those guys. This is a 'you' issue. Not with Lage. 🤦
