Use to play this for my oldest daughter in my 79 caddy coupe. She had a hard time sleeping and I was an 18 year old Father who worked so hard as a Branch 1 Fumigator. 12 hours a day 6 days a week! Would load her in her car seat and cruise her around the block with her bottle and this playing on my sound system till she fell asleep......and I loved doing it every night for my baby girl.

This is the most optimistic song I can think of. Three "starts" that end up in despair, but the fourth one is a smashing success and full of life. And all of this - without a single word... Genius.

Dad died a month and 12 days ago... Every day that passes I think of him. This song reminds me so much of him, when we went on those car trips, he played it on the stereo and said this was one of his favorite melodies. I was learning to play it for the time we were supposed to meet when I got home again....this won't be possible but this samba is pa ti, pa.

I never knew so much could be said without saying a single word until I heard this song .Carlos Santana can reach the deepest parts of your soul with his guitar playing. 26 years ago he inspired me to pick up the guitar, and for that I'll be forever grateful

Yeah you said it, man. Also the person who said hair standing up on the back of your neck. If that doesn't happen to you when you hear this song, it's possible you don't have a soul, lol. This song would actually be worse if it had words. Sheer instrumental brilliance.

I lost my dad 2 months ago. This was his favorite song. Since the 70s, he had been to close to 20 santana concerts. My pops was hawaiian and loved the water. he used always say this song is like being at the beach with the sun going down and taking the surf board off the lip of a wave. For whatever reason, it always seem to fit for me too. l still can't listen to this song. Its too hard for me. But i tried today. Fathers day this year is going to hurt. I love you dad, and I will miss you forever.

I love this song, it reminds me when I first went on my date with my ex-husband. oh lord he took me to the Arizona state Fair. THAT was the first time I ever heard it. I heard of Carlos Santana and some of his music but being a black young lady at the time and him being a Chicano. I didn't know anything about his culture and it was vise versa. Boy, oh boy we had good times and baby bad times. Those was the late 90s. I am so happy we had 2 beautiful black and Mexican native kids.... music musical great music brings any culture together once your soul feels it. I thank every musical musician just for music. people what makes the world go round. Now my son's listen to the great and only Carlos Santana

My dad just recently passed of cancer. To this beautifully haunting man who would play his electric guitar to Samba Pa Ti at full blast: although how annoyed I would get, how much I wish for you to play it one more time. How much I wish to sing with you; you’ve always wanted me to. To hug you again. To see your quirky smile, and say I love you one more time. Rest in peace, dad. Richard Raciti (1960 - 2018)

With the the top off the Corvette. Glazing at the. Big beautiful sky never thought I would lose him so young n as he left. With cancer. He knew he had it. Fixed the heart but left the Cancer guess he didn't want to go through all the kemo therapy. May hebe with God Almighty. I pray this ever so much so much so I would give up my. Place so he can go. Amen. Amen.
