I’m about to be 33, and I’ve lived by myself since I was 22. It’s both beautiful, and bittersweet. Having so much time to yourself, really allows you to know who you are, and what you want out of life. At the same time, though, it’s easy to feel a little lonely and crave someone to be there. But once someone else comes into your space, you start to wish that you were by yourself again. Very odd. At least for me. But if you can be comfortable with being by yourself for an extended length of time, you could be comfortable in any situation. It’s really an invaluable skill to have.

I used to feel the same exact way, and what I've learned for myself is that it's when I overextend or do things that I actually do not want to do to get the love and acceptance I'm craving (also known as people pleasing), that's when I would run into an issue of feeling like I was giving and people weren't pouring back into me. I think the key is to only do what genuinely feels good and natural to you, so that it can be completely pure and you're not looking for anything in return. It's a great way to take care of yourself while also taking care of the people you love, and it's free and clear without any expectations.

Neat, clean and organized and seems to be disciplined. It all seemed like the perfect setup until the word girlfriend popped up. I was all of the things mentioned until I got a girlfriend and it all changed. She was fun to hang out with and we fun most of the time. Then slowly things began to change. Her visits started being everyday which was fine, but she got it in her head that she should move in. My mistake was I agreed. She then started wanting to argue, and about everything. [ I'm not into to it ] And Then she got very possessive. Everything I did she felt like I needed to run it by her first. [ fast-forward.] As time went by I knew that she wasn't the one for me. I missed my calm Happy life. I then decided that she should be just a friend, that did not set well with her. I won't go into the whole thing because there's not enough room on here. But as time went on she was no longer a person I even wanted to be friends with. The way I see it is girls don't hang around you unless they want something from you in the long run. I did tell her at the begining that I wasn't ready for marriage or kids at that time in my life. I'll end here, but it didn't end well for her. I did go back to my calm and satisfying life. So, good luck to you in your endeavors. I'm Happy now, I got a dog!
