I used to work for this woman in the mid 1980s, she was the boss of a tavern in Queen st Brisbane it was called the kindergarten tavern, next to the Hyatt back in the day, I also lived with her in a penthouse next to the park royal in alice st, she is the most gorgeous woman inside and out, she had this friend called Jackie, can I say these ladies are strikingly beautiful, and their word is their bond, I haven't seen Carol for 35years she is still the same, love you girl, from leanne

Carlotta is amazing. She's always been supportive of new entertainers. I remember singing at the Albury in the 90s at an Amateur night and she was backstage encouraging us. Her attitudes though a little outdated comes from the era she was born in. Though I agree 100% about labels and just being YOU.

I really understand what she’s saying. She came from a different time, every thing went against her and still she stuck to her own path even dealing with others opinions on her. I can see why someone like that might find some identity politics kinda silly. Love you Carlotta

I've known Carlotta since I was little , introduced by Tony La Vette - Paddington markets in the 80's The Alubry hotel , the London. I loved helping her at the pharmacy... The best laugh booms out of the grump when she's in the mood - I loved when she wasn't playing nice , every bloody fool was irritation to her senses - class & classic king's Cross.

We love you Carlotta. Sending love from a 60 year old man from Melbourne. You are 'JUST' Carlotta. Lady Gaga wrote songs that helps the world to understand that there is no need to identify with a specific gender. Everyone is who they are. Fullstop! You are an inspiration for the evolving human race.

What an amazing lady and human Carlotta is like others on here could listen to her for hours . I agree with what she says about what we can’t say now that once we could having been a teen in the 70s. No it wasn’t perfect one bit but it’s made us wary and stops real conversation often 🕊🇬🇧

Miss seeing her face on Tv.. wish she could be more public with her life as it is now.. it helps the younger generations see that transgender women can withstand life. She’s proof!
@bushranger513 жыл бұрын
No doubt about her, she's always been down to earth, and that's always been her appeal, and that's why I think she's has endured, as she said everyone knows her as Carlotta, and that's the only label she puts on herself. And yet without her, many other Australian transwomen would have topped themselves, she's a true inspiration.

Although best known as a cabaret performer, she appeared in the television series Number 96 in 1974 as Miss Robyn Ross, in a comedic storyline as the girlfriend of Arnold Feather (Jeff Kevin) who unbeknown to him, she reveals that she is transgender, her appearance in the show is the first time a transgender actress played a transgender TV character anywhere in the world.

You didn't ask Carlotta's thoughts on trans men using biological women's toilets/change rooms, and trans men competing in biological women's sports, which are the conflicted issues around trans these days.
@JimmiAlli3 жыл бұрын
I think you are confused. Trans women competing etc.
@misssummersalt2 жыл бұрын
I'll answer one of them for you, I was her Bette Midler impersonator and whether backstage or on the road, she used the ladies. Because she's a woman. And rightly, a transman would use the gents. Simple. Can't comment on the sport issue, but as for the bathrooms, it's very clear. :)
@fortheloveoflike39962 жыл бұрын
@@misssummersalt Theatre backstage toilets is an agreement between people who are working. Public toilets are not the same. If you look at the history of public toilets, originally they only had men's toilets, there were no toilets for women (the urinary leash) women had to fight for the right to have women only toilets because it was well known it wasn't safe, and there was not enough privacy for women to share public toilets with men. Nothing has changed since the public toilets first started. Women still need women only safe spaces for privacy, dignity and safety. If I pretend to be a billionaire I can't actually spend a billion dollars because I don't have what it takes to do that. Feeling like a billionaire doesn't make me one. Women's reasons for needing women only toilets is a biological reason based in reality, not a feeling.
