I mean he had keys, he just wasted them :D He always clears the entire level before going to the boss which is in my opinion a bad habit he should fix. He often ruins his chance of devil deal/angel room that way for no reason. If he had done that this time, there wouldnt be any confusion regarding the door.

funny thing is, the phd would have done nothing for carl, because he already had lucky foot, so the person in chat who said he already got phd was kinda correct haha. was a good call to not buy it. would have been a 7 cent pill and thats it. although he died immediately in the next floor xD

PHD has multiple effects, not just good pills. The most notable one is that you get extra money from blood donation machines, so it will pay for itself easily. Unlike Lucky Foot it also identifies all the pills, which isn't too big of a deal, but might help you use some of them at more opportune moments. Thirdly, it also heals on pickup, which would've saved the run as another commenter pointed out.

@CarlPlayin42 it is near impossible to figure out how to interact with the patch of ground in the dark room. I won't spoil here how to do it, but I would advise you to actually ask someone about it that knows how to tell you without spoiling you about what it does.

​​@@bomber9912 The point of the dirt patch is not just to [MEGA REDACTED], and using it to [Minor Spoiler] is also valid. I think saying "You will never figure out any use for the dirt patch" is wrong, although you may say he'll never figure out one specific thing you can do with it. I still think it's very possible to find out, especially after reading the wiki about it you really just need to find the thing to use on the patch (which isn't nearly as impossible as other similar hard unlocks) and the rest comes on its own. That aside, yes, he will probably ask chat if he's missing anything really important and they will point him to [Redacted], but that shouldn't happen until he at the very least has the FINALE ending (especially because there's no reason to want to unlock everything so fast)

I think the first of the two is very doable to figure out on his own, the second one however may require a hint but could be doable without it with some luck and experimenting. What he will need hints for is how to unlock the tainted secret

And the goal to get "first certificate", best item in game is insane. Complete all with all chars, all 34. Once I got the first one after so many hundreds of hours for more than 3 years, that day, I gave up and stop playing. But it was a nice run, playing the lost to get all marksl (both of them) was the most frustrating and at the same time the most rewarding experience
