I’m loving the simplicity of Apple Notes… since I made the leap from EN, I am finding it so much easier to focus on the task at hand rather than getting distracted. It doesn’t quite look so pretty building out notes (such as with tables), but for some reason it enhances the note by being a more basic format

Great! Can’t wait to sign up. On my way out the door for morning exercise (harvest some bananas with my new machete). I was already planning on signing up for the overwhelmed/disorganized series today. I was already planning on doing this some time, but with the Time Sector System included that should just about do it!

Great video, Carl. How would you distinguish what is a goal vs what is a project? For example planning the 2022 UPW in Sydney could potentially be either? Thanks!
@Carl_Pullein2 жыл бұрын
Good question. A goal is something that to accomplish you need to change a behaviour or habit and that has a significant positive impact on your life. A project just needs doing by a given date. So the UPW Sydney example would be a project. What I learn at UPW could become a goal.

Hey Carl, great video! I’m actually looking for a video comparing Evernote and Apple Notes. Why would you choose to start using Apple Notes after using Evernote for such a long time? Or, do you use both for specific use cases?
@Carl_Pullein2 жыл бұрын
I still use Evernote. Apple Notes is more of a hobby and I want to show people who are not interested in a fully-featured notes app that their built-in notes app can do a lot of things. And that's the difference between the two. If you want a simple notes app, that is very powerful, then Apple Notes is the way to go. If you prefer something with a lot more features and want to build things like a custom CRM system, then Evernote would be a better choice.

Great Video. I am noticing an overlap between your "Goals" and "Areas." Can you explain this a little better for me? In your podcast, they have the exact same titles. You explain the difference between and Goal and a Project, but I'm a little confused between a Goal and Area. Thank in advance.
@Carl_Pullein6 ай бұрын
Yes. There will always be an overlap because your goals will come from your areas of focus. A weight loss goal will come from health and fitness, and a career goal will come from your Career/business area. You use goals to pull you back on track with your areas of focus.

If you can understand these videos, Christoph, you should be fine with the courses as the videos are screen shares or diagrams.

Notes tip: you don’t need to highlight the text to change the style (heading, etc.). Click anywhere on the line of text, change the style and Notes will change all the words in that paragraph.

@cliftonwarren16936 ай бұрын
What is the difference between a goal and project? Do you maintain a master list for goals in the project section?
@Carl_Pullein6 ай бұрын
Hi Clifton, a project is something with a deadline that involves completing a set of tasks to accomplish a specific outcome. A goal is consistently doing a specific task or action with the desired outcome of developing or changing a habit that betters us. Well, that's how I define them. 🙂
@Oldnose632 жыл бұрын
Why use notes for this? I would use a spreadsheet with a weekly timeframe and clear defined goals , milestones and activities. Works for companies and projects.
@Carl_Pullein2 жыл бұрын
Which is exactly how I use notes for my more complex projects. Ultimately, I want to be focused on getting the job done, not rearranging columns and lines. The less organising and planning, the doing gets done.

You’re thinking like a project manager, not as an amateur at setting goals and getting things in order
