It is important to remember that people have been getting amazing things done for a long time without any apps and that it’s not about the tools, but the principles. Thanks for reminding me of what’s important after having had my mind messed up by all sorts of productivity apps over the years. It’s better to go back to the basics and cut out the fluff.

Just discovered your videos and have also subscribed to your podcasts. I do appreciate your combination of energy/enthusiasm with professionalism/feet-on-the-ground. Also ordered your book - in hardcover as I reckon it'll be a keeper.

I am a similar age to Carl. I have started reading Your Time Your Way and the penny dropped as to how much I have allowed myself to be conditioned over the years since I stopped using a paper diary. These are essential life skills and it’s one thing I continue to urge two of my children to adopt as I can see the problems they face.

1. Coincidentally, my therapist had similar advice yesterday. Society pressures us to “get stuff done”, but “stuff” will be constantly coming at us. We need to learn to be mindful and be present in the moment; “enjoy the process” rather than striving to get everything “done”. 2. I think your last segment regarding AI could warrant a full video. Recently I attended both a Political Discussion class and a Financial Management presentation; the negative aspects that AI can have on our personal lives were a topic at both. P.S. Graphics were well-done, with no distracting special sound effects. Funny how graphics can be fun and captivating on IG, yet bothersome on YT.

It's something I am watching very carefully. Tech is great, but it cannot replace the human side of time management and productivity.

When I have to break my todo list for someone else’s goals, I think of that as a debt I’m owed. People I can work with will appreciate my sacrifice and the pendulum will swing back the other way. Someone who will leave a debt of effort unpaid are not necessarily the best people to help.

Hello, your tips are very good, do you have any tips if I would like to create a system for family tasks, like tasks that we need todo for house routines, health and kid routine. I am trying to find a system that could be shared with my wife, and we could collect the ideas and distribute.

Best way to do this is to sit down one weekend and go through the household tasks. You can then divide the responsibilities between each member of your family. It works well in our house. I know what I am responsible for 🙂 (and my wife checks I do it each week (accountibility))

This may make you laugh, I do all my brainstorming using post it notes on a white board, then when its moved around and such (all the targets and goals and specifics coloured in these are placed on Index cards, Why? Portable, colour coded, durable then put into Trello. (But we still keep the Index cards with us on our clip board) Run own business for mental health disability support, coaching and counselling, so as you could imagine paperwork and admin can be difficult to complete when you out in the field with clients. The index card can be done in the car between clients, scanned by smartphone, and later with all the basic easily completed end of the day. (The index cards are now printed by professionals) We had a few cars broken into and their surface pro taken, so we all have mini i-pads that we take with us every where. This has our calander, but we all have dumb flip phones instead.

I find I'm easily distracted by app switching when I think I can pick one app to rule them all. Instead I'm sticking to paper and pen.

A lot of these videos fail to mention, that whats stopping one from having a to do list and just simply not doing it. No one teaches that
