@@sannice Well, upnuntil that point set ups were developed in some ways which made the levels fun/creative. This one stays in the interesting to stale phase. It doesn't necessarily have to be harder, just varied. But the repetition of the exact same thing under a dark level brings up the fatigue rather quick. What Im getting at is. Making a level hard just by making it annoying is not fun or good.

Speaking as someone who watched Ross build a lot of these levels, this guy Carl here definitely seems to think that people don't learn and grow as time wears on, or at least he doesn't think Ross does. Ross wanted these levels to be hard, yes. Sadistic in some cases, sure. But he wanted them to be interesting and challenging, too. And most importantly, playable. He surprised me, too, when I decided to start watching him make the levels for the Grumps. He's really come a long way. A lot of these are hard puzzles, battles, and platforming, but he still wants them to be played. That's why there are so many 1ups everywhere, he doesn't want it to be a limiting factor. That's why many of them are mercilessly short. That's why he always tries to (emphasis on the "try") make the levels with a sort of format; "introduce mechanic" "variations on mechanic" "ramp up difficulty of mechanic". He tries to place the checkpoints fairly. And these first few worlds are intended to be easier than those later on (depending on easy you'd consider "Rock Bottom" to be haha).It really impressed me. And this is coming from someone who's never really watched Ross's channel before he started work on the Super World, if that means anything. (And yes, he has stated countless times his fascination with boss fights during the build streams.)

For the escort level, rather than have more obstacles, there probably could have been (from my understanding) gaps at the end where you'd need at least X amount to survive to fill enough of the gaps for the last 1 to hit the note block. You wouldn't know how many you'd need to have survive until after the first attempt.
