G'day mate, I loved this video & you saved me a heap of $$$'s my Stihl dealer in Western Australia quoted me $115 for a service plus parts for my HS45 with an additional cost to service my fuel system. The worst part was a 4 week waiting period for a booking for the dealership workshop. I actually considered buying a new HS45 for $349 for the 18" cut. Your tip about the spark arrester being blocked was my problem, I got it out & cleaned it with a wire brush, it's off & running like a new 1, thanks for your advice

I broke mine in with MotoMix plus one cap full of Stihl Ultra. I also sprayed my blades down with their lubricant/ resin remover before I used them. Buying a quart of MotoMix with my hs45 gave me a full four year warranty. I will run the hedge trimmers with an extra capful of Ultra for the first two tanks. Then, it will get fed my standard 50:1 mix of Stihl Ultra and premium non ethanol gas. I generally run my two cycle equipment at full throttle most of the time. Or, at least as much asI can. I do check spark arrestors in all equipment at least once a year, burning them off if necessary. The worst offender on spark arrestors I have is my MS 241 CM chainsaw.

@joeraptor12 жыл бұрын
@@Carlsmower Thanks for the reply. Just a little concerned about the power on the HSA56. It has only 2800 strokes/minute. I have had the battery powered Stihl HSA45 for the past 5 years. Great machine.....super reliable....but has no power. Even hand shears cut faster and cleaner. Specs say the hsa45 has 2500 rpms. So, I don't expect much of an improvement with the 56a. Battery wise it's going from an 18 v to a 36 v but other manufactures like Echo using larger 56v batteries. That's why I was considering the gas powered HS45.

In Western Australia we get screwed by the mower shop’s it will cost you around $20;00 Australian for one spark arrester we get robed the with the air filters. So I have to re-use everything. Until it’s unserviceable. it’s a disappointment . Getting a service from a mower shop on my sthil HD 45 costs close to half the price of a new machine . I only had one service this year because I was desperate. And bought another machine. The stupid thing about it is more and more people are buying the parts on line to do it themselves. It will cost the shops more money in the long just because they are being greedy and profiteering now . Good luck to you and thanks for the vid 🦘🇦🇺🍻

Peach I'm also from WA I totally agree with what you're saying about our dealers In Western Australia, I've done a comment above. I have the following stihl items, MS170, 038 Super, 660 Magnum chainsaws, BG 56 Blower, FS 55 Brush cutter, HS 45 Hedge Trimmer, KM 131 Kombi engine with, carbon fibre extension, pole pruner & edge trimmer attachments. It's unrealistic to get these items serviced on regular occasions. 1 thing I've noticed though is shop around between dealership stores, they all charge different prices for new chains & parts.

They no longer put that item on it is a brake or a blade disengage. Very wise to flip it out when you were starting machine that way the blades are not reciprocating makes it much safer also useful if you’re climbing a ladder with it

Good thing I didn't buy into this motomix scam cause then I wouldn't even be able to buy grocery's. I'm a professional and ill stick with premium pump gas with Echo Red Armor. See I own tools by Stihl and Echo and neither of them get this pre mixed bullshit. I like to preferably.. use the E10 pump gas in my tools tanks with in 1 month but.. I've also bought used tools where the seller told me the pump gas had been in there for like 3 months and it started right up. Just like most say.. you could buy 1 or 2 brand new tools for the price of running pre mixed gas over the course of 1 tool.

Erik glad your fuel is working for you, unfortunately not everyone is so lucky (or conscientious). I have seen enough fuel issues that it makes sense to me to use a pre-mix on a unit that is going into hibernation or gets little use.
