I got a kite for Christmas and I am waiting for a board to arrive so thanks for the tips hopefully goes well I can’t wait

if you havent flown a kite before then id suggest getting a 3m ish training kite and have a fly before you step on a board. as with all kite sports, its 80% kite control and 20% board control.

Thanx xarltb but I've never had any kite. I've just bought a windskate. Is a Kitesurf wing fine?

Any chance you could do a video about landboarding upwind? I'd be particularly interested to see the position of the kite in the wind window and a few comments on what to do with your weight distribution on the board. Also if you'd like to give me a free lesson on St Anne's beach anytime I can be there in 10 minutes!!

I just got a 3m eolo kite, i'm learning to fly it with my mountainboard. One question, do you keep the kite always at the same height or do you move it up and down to gain power? Do you know where else i can find instructional videos or texts? Thanks! and great video! it really helped me out!

Thanks for the video! I am driving Kitbuggy over 10 years but know i want to try ATB :D
can u do a vid about going upwind and changing direction?
@carltb9 жыл бұрын
I've already done one about transitions. And getting up wind is all about board angle and being powered

+Skie k i tend not to fly in off shore winds as they are gusty and unpredictable. it would just be like flying inland
@carltb9 жыл бұрын
+Skie k if the wind is too strong for your skill level then don't fly.

I tried a 6m ozone fury on landboard for first time today. I am having a little problem with keeping up with wind or the wind is not very good (5-8mph with gust up to 12mph). I also use handlers, when I turn kite from 12'ock, it drag me off a little too fast. Thinking of getting Ozone Turbo bar in a month or so. Meantime do you have any tip for my kite with handlers? Thanks!
@carltb11 жыл бұрын
if you are comfortable flying the kite on the water then you can also use it on land, but take it out in less wind then you would for the water. id drop 5-10 mph off your top end
@carltb12 жыл бұрын
it all depends on the conditions, but to park and ride is the goal, but if you dont have enough power you can work the kite to generate more power ie move it up and down . have a google for the progression series of dvd's

your kite size will depend on make , model and wind speed . if you can scud with it then you can board with it.

@carltb9 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use a 3m to landboard. Actually, it's a great size kite to start out on

carltb good point, im using a scout III and it's perfect

it sounds like you are trying to go up wind too much. try following the kite for a few seconds longer before you carve upwind.

I imagine my 14m LEI kite would be a bit too large for landboarding...

Hi
@carltb12 жыл бұрын
not really, it all depends on flying it in the right winds for your weight and within your own abilities. my go to kite is a peter lynn arc. and at the minute im mostly flying the 18m phantom2
@barteksrartek47311 жыл бұрын
I'm using PL Phantom 2 9 m
@carltb11 жыл бұрын
a 5.5m peter lynn twister would be a better option. the ace is cheap for a reason. poor quality and unstable
@barteksrartek47311 жыл бұрын
well it was better today but still i think I'm doing something wrong
