A couple of the basics explained flying a 4 line kite. This is the second time I flew this new Flexifoil 3.3 square meter kite. Wind was light, but just enough to get some flying time in.

I have a dual line parafoil and I want to convert it to a quad line. I'll probably watch this a few times to pick up as much as I can. BTW, my larger goal is to learn something about controlling a paraglider. I think there are similarities.

Good luck with the conversion! Sounds like a bit of fun and I am sure it will work with a bit of tweaking! Hope you can get a few good tips....and yes, I too think there is definitely similarities with a paraglider! That sounds like a LOT of excellent entertainment but do be careful ! All the best and happy flying! 😎

Hey, I have followed the advice to wind a 4 line kite using the figure 8 method, wrapping all 4 lines around both the handles put together, but always unwind to find myself with a lot of knots. Any advice on what I might be doing wrong?

What I would do is lay the line out loosely in front of you on smooth ground and then just take your fingers and walk towards the kite end of the line. Do this a couple of times BEFORE you actually use the handles to wind the line up. For example, if i dont try to straighten out my vacuum cleaner cord before I wrap it up, it winds up in a real mess. I think the same holds true with kite lines… If you try to make sure they're laying flat before you wind them up it always works out better. Good luck!😸
