That is so true. His 1981 season was worth a Brownlow. His knee injury next game cost Essendon the premiership. He was a great player, better than Terry, in my opinion.

@@Faultyist People don't understand just how good Terry was...and Neale really was even better - pretty much unbeatable at full-back. We'd just look at each other in amazement at some of the things he did. l was at the both the Sth and the Cats game...That Rd 22 loss meant they missed the double-chance...they were cruising until his injury.

if Neale Daniher didnt do his knee in the next round, We would have won the premiership

ND even in his short career is the best FB l ever saw....We went to Waverley for some night match the next season, saw him sitting in the stand not far from us and nearly cried....we knew it was over as far as brilliant career was concerned. I was at the game that broke the 15-game streak.....obviously ND's loss wasn't noticeable that day but l remember feeling in the subsequent coupla seasons that it definitely put Dons back a bit as far as being able to challenge Hawthorn. Cats were brilliant that day and deserved to win....might've beaten Essendon even with ND...No doubt in my mind tho that Dons were a flag short during that era,.....
