In the early '80s in Qld, we used to get one match on a Saturday, commentary from Lou Richards and Peter Landy, and Carlton was more often than not on the match of the day. So we saw a lot of Kenny Hunter and the Buzz. Champion players. (Saints supporter)

When someone mentions Carlton, inadvertently some sick enters my mouth....but what a joy this grab was....two phenoms aged but noble and full of stories and laughs from what was a golden age of football...they were superstars

I remember seeing their first game at Waverley 1981, and after the game, I remember my brother and I were walking to our car behind some Richmond supporters, who were obviously very disappointed that their premiership team had just been humiliated by 10 Goals, and we overheard one of those Richmond supporters saying "Gees, they win one game, and they think they have won the Grand Final". Funnily enough, history shows that Carlton won the Grand final that year and against Richmond also.

Funny how memories are not always reliable. Carlton beat Collingwood in the 81 Grand Final. Having said that, I enjoyed this video as it does remind me of how much I loved the footy back then. Carlton had some great teams, so when my side beat them it actually meant something.
