Sonny really screwed everyone by killing Cates. He has no choice but to find that gun. He doesn't find it, Alexis' case probably goes to trial, where Kristina would probably confess the truth about her wareabouts to save Alexis. She does that, KRistina gets put on trial for Cates murder with Alexis an accessory after the fact, not to mention a charge of interfearing in a police investigation. And Sonny can't admit he did it cuz then he implicates Carly- who's his alliby- also as an accessory after the fact. Since there's no murder weapon, as Jason destroyed it. only option without the gun is to pray the jury won't convict an innocent woman and to keep KRistina away from that trial WITH A BABYSITTER to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid

Maybe later a few years from now, give them time to heal from all the Nina stuff, Carly date Jack bad thing happen josslyn get caught in the crossfire and Sonny save the day . We all know bad thing is going to happen when she and Jack get together
