First time I've watched an extended interview with Ms. Fiorina, and I must say she is very impressive. Not the first time I've watched Katie conduct an interview, and she is the same mindless Progressive Socialist she's always been. Ms. Fiorina conducted herself admirably, despite the barrage of loaded, slanted, and biased questions delivered by one of the least objective airheads ever fired from a major television network.

Seth Mann I love when a stranger commenting on a KZbin video claims to know your intellect and voting record based on his support of a current candidate. :-) I have a Master's, working on a PhD. Supported Bill Clinton for two terms, esp. during his impeachment. Have voted for tons of Democrats in my state and was against W. Bush's spending, handling of Iraq, immigration, Harriet Myers, and on and on and supported the Democratic takeover of Congress in 2006. I just happen to like Fiorina's message, track record, and accomplishments and am disappointed that Hillary is not the Hillary I supported in the primary in 2008. Oh and am majorly disappointed in Obama as our POTUS. So, go judge someone else bro. Oh...and I have never, ever liked Katie Couric. So, if not liking her makes me a Conservative..ok... :-) #votepersonoverparty

Jordan Smith I must say you are right. Up to this moment I was pretty strongly in support of Dr. Ben Carson. But, Carly showed me some intellect, and an ability to slap (figuratively) some truth onto a serious Liberal lapdog. Katie has to be careful to watch out cause if President Obama stops suddenly she will jam her head up his butt.

Clyde Cornwell You're right. It is so obvious looking at Katie Couric's face that she is disgusted with Carly Fiorina. How dare she be a woman and not a flaming liberal like me? Carly Fiorina handled this like a champ. She gives clear, concise, articulate, and specific answers to every question. And it's not just this interview. This is what she is like every time I see her. So refreshing!

She was my first choice. But I think Trump is the only one rough and tumble enough to reverse DC politics. Fiorina is good, but with the media, Hollywood, and the academy being so unified in opposition against GOP, the guy who was pugnacious at first and later became smart clearly was the antidote to the criminal Hillary

I am also thinking...Carly handled Katie so, so much better than Sarah Palin did. I thought Couric's questioning of Palin was clearly biased, HOWEVER - Palin just stumbled through it and then cried about it for YEARS, still does! Whereas Carly has no problem standing up for herself, etc. and is just faring so, so much better as opposed to Palin - or frankly anyone else that Couric has tried to shame out of public life for not being a liberal like herself. Carly is just impressive folks, like it or not.

Her LEADERSHIP is what we need. I really don't think that run your fastest, jump your highest (which has got to be higher) and better, better, and better will do one whit of good when solving the countries' problems. If this were the approach to solving all the problems that face our nation, then all we'd need to do is find a Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Rick Santorum or John Kaisich every few years and send them to DC. How well has playing dueling politicians/baby kissers served us in the past?. Carly Fiorina represents a very intelligent, well-spoken breath of fresh air.

***** I thought of The Donald, but I've a hard time taking him seriously. This country has some tough decisions ahead and the routine suits haven't been able/willing to try. Carly Fiorina would and she will be taken seriously. However, the Donald-will he ever stop being a loose cannon? His being sure of himself is no more than CF, but his resonates on the side of being cocky: while hers resonates just as ; I AM GOOD.bjt if not

***** You're saying that we need is to win the shouting, 'ok corral' match? That never got anyone-anywhere except to rally support from the fringes and that's not the way to win friends and infuence people. I could be wrong, but when O'Reilly screams over his guests, when anyone screams and gets mad (like "I don't get mad, I get even..."), the succeed in distancing a lot of the faithful. There's stil enough of American hope that right wil triumph in this gale. And that's the wrong kind of attention. You want passion. Watch this tape for PASSION and tell me that you don't feel something. PASSION AND FACTS: www.c-span.org/video/?326702-4/carla-fiorina-faith-freedom-coalition-conference Passion is what you're suggesting and I submit is that PASSION and FACTS are what the country needs, and a dose of COMMON SENSE.

***** The liberal media won't allow themselves to appreciate ANYTHING that comes from the right. I was listening to Bob Beckel this AM on Morning Joe and was sickened at his ability to tell half-truths and BELIEVE them!! CF does tell it like it needs to be told. If it pisses off GOP members, so be it. She says it anyways. If it does the same with GOP voters or liberal voters, she says it anyway. She speaks her truth, not what we want to hear. People need to put aside petty politics for what is better for tha nation. HRC and killing Kathleen Wille's cat and other strong armed tactics for decades; or is Carly Fioirna what this country needs. We've tried out way for several centuries and it's unraveling. We need to try what won't unravel; common sense and the you's and mes running the show. Not the big business, big money, big ______________.That is as certain a winning combination as death and taxes!!

Carly is so well-spoken. I really really hope she is the Republican candidate in the 2016 presidential race. She has shown nothing but complete class throughout all of her interviews. As a young woman in America she is a woman I feel like I can truly look up to. I cannot say the same for Hillary. ***** I listened long enough. If she is already side stepping and spewing mamby pamby "common ground" crap, then we'll never get a straight answer out of her on anything. And "civil union" for same sex couples and not "marriage???????" If that's supposed to appease the religious people because somehow they think that "marriage" by definition, involves a god, then we had best be changing some terminology in this country. We all need to get a "civil union license" at the courthouse! Not just gay people. So lets do just that and solve this ridiculous debate and allow people who love each other to be in a legally committed relationship. Let the religious people have the word "marriage" and the ceremony performed in their place of worship by their spiritual leader is just that, a religious ceremony. Their marriage would mean nothing legally and if they want spousal rights by law, they would need to march themselves right down to the courthouse for their "civil union license" and make an appointment with the Justice of the Peace , just like the gays and everyone else. How about that, Carly?
@roflsnpwncakes
@roflsnpwncakes 9 жыл бұрын
You just fucking described exactly what conservatives want civil unions and marriage to be. Great job. We WANT marriage to be strictly religious and have no legal bearing. We WANT civil unions to be for anybody and confer legal benefits. I don't get what you don't understand.
@tinarobertsstudios
@tinarobertsstudios 9 жыл бұрын
Perhaps you misunderstood my comment. I think you missed the part where, should she have her way, I suggested that the religious marriage ceremony should not result in a LEGAL union, and that a separate state recognized ceremony would have to be performed. Or ...maybe we can just keep things simple and the religious fanatics can stop trying to force their beliefs on everyone else, and we just just let people who love each other get married if they want to.
@roflsnpwncakes
@roflsnpwncakes 9 жыл бұрын
I know what you said. And the religious marriage ceremony not resulting in a legal union is what many conservatives are arguing for. They don't want marriages for straight couples as they are now and gay marriages to be called civil unions. They want civil unions to be for both gay and straight couples and for those to confer legal benefits. And they want marriage to be for anybody who can get a church to marry them but not for it to convey any legal benefits.
@queun
@queun 9 жыл бұрын
Tina Roberts Tina, I think you missed ROFL's point. When the municipal marriage license is signed and witnessed, two people are married. No words need be spoken except out of custom and tradition. No church nor perfunctory words from a Justice of the Peace are necessary. In fact, couples are already married before the church service begins. What you are asking for is what pretty much exists now. If everyone said, as you said, "Let the religious people have the word "marriage", this whole thing would be behind us. I think what has happened here is you actually agree with the conservatives on this one but have been conditioned to disagree with them - even when you don't.

Go Carly, I really enjoyed how she changes the perspective on any issue. There are always two sides to every story. The left focuses on one side, the right focus on the other. Isn't it time we see both sides and make decisions based on facts. I think it is really sad that raising money for a campaign is legal. The very act is corrupt. Each person should raise money as needed to become the nominee, but once nominated each party should be given equal amounts to run on period. This is the only fair way. The money raised individually should then be given back to contributors on a pro-rated bases. This is the only fair way to do it period. Buying candidates only buys corruption. I like Carly and I still need to hear from candidates on both sides before I make my decision on who to support. I can say this with absolution though. Carly has owned every Liberal, so called, journalist she has sat with. Very interesting to hear her perspective on abortion especially when compared to tattoo artist. Exactly the straight shooter we need right now. No more Bush, No more Clinton....let’s move on to fresh and new. Carly is near the top of my list right now until I hear different.

Malcolm Rice You can, but when you have people from so many different places around the world with different backgrounds and different schooling, it seems less likely for that to occur and more likely that intellectual diversity would be present. I agree intellectual diversity is the important thing here, and we seem to have a lot of it in the Silicon Valley considering how many new and different companies pop up seemingly every day.

The Silicon Valley is very left-leaning--if possible even more so than the overall population of California. One way to measure this is to examine patterns of political giving. Based on the last three Presidential elections, their giving to Democratic candidates was at least three times larger than to Republican candidates.

I think Carly Fiorina did an excellent job answering those questions. I have heard of her but I didn't really know anything about her before watching this interview. I have to say that I like her. Her problem is that no one knows her. She really needs to make herself seen if she plans on having any chance of being a front runner.

Carly Fiorina is very dangerous! As a progressive, I say that because unlike so many spokes women for the Republican party she can actually think on her feet, keep her composure and give really intelligent answers! I read through the very biased comments and unlike so many others, I think Katie Couric gave a very professional hard hitting interview. It is true that Carly gave answers that Katie did not agree with and Katie did try hard to make Carly stumble but Katie did not interject her own viewpoint and try to prove that her view was more valid than Carly's view. When Carly handled the questions and gave intelligent answers, Katie did not try to dominate and one up her, she simply moved on to the next question. Katie tried to make her stumble by delivering the hardest, most pointed questions that she could. Carly handled every question with intelligent answers and complete composure. This was an interview that was done by two very professional women and they both performed admirably!

We should resist electing anyone who served as CEO of a large company like HP. We don't need that kind of 'leadership' nor the sort of policy that will inevitably result from habitualized corporate exceptionalism. Not only this, but the complete and utter lack of any foreign policy experience is problematic.

The more I see and hear Carly Firioni, the more I like her. First off, she has such a powerful story rising from secretary to CEO. She has a very calm and thoughtful in answering questions She listens carefully and her answers always seem to address the substance of what's being asked. She is very intelligent and seems to genuinely believe in what she says. She expresses ideas in a very clear, easy to understand manner. And she doesn't pander or attempt to manipulate voters by pitting one group against another. Obviously, I agree with her politics of limited government, support for life, low taxes, less regulation, strong national defense and free markets solutions to the economic problems in America. But, even if I didn't agree with her politics, I don't understand how anyone could not be impressed with her as a person and a candidate. Just compare Carly's real acomplishments and genuine ideas to the way Hillary rode the coat tails of her husband, changed her political beliefs based on what was popular, moved to New York just to run for office and particularly the way Hillary has tried to minipulate women and minorities for pure political gain. She can't hold a candle to Carly Firioni. Carly is my candidate for president in 2016.

***** You don't include citations, but I believe your statistics reflect the genocides of communist dictatorships, not of social democracies. Perhaps you have thrown a few Fascist regimes into the mix? Which Social Democracies have been responsible for mass murder in the past 100 years? China. End of list. And they are still transitioning to democratizing, from a communist dictatorship. Socialist does not equal Oppression. A Social Democracy is a free society with many government programs and regulations designed to balance benefits to middle class and business interests, which produces a robust economy FOR EVERYONE (study US economic history of the 1950's, 60's and 70's, as well as world economic histories). They can and do have a capitalist economies. Unlike the US today, the SD government does not make laws and loopholes that favor business interests (profits) over people interests(quality of life). Right now, corporations pay 25 cents income tax for every dollar individuals pay. *NOT balanced* Do you remember reading about the early 1900's monopolies, child labor, & worker abuse in the US? That was CAPITALIST oppression. Without some regulation the powerful will oppress the weak in any system. THERE IS A MIDDLE GROUND. The top ten most socialist countries in the world today are China, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, New Zealand, & Belgium. Aside from China, these are all peaceful countries with high standards of living and high life-satisfaction scores. www.commondreams.org/further/2009/05/11/worlds-happiest-countries-social-democracies In comparison, it is estimated that the US alone has been responsible for 20 million deaths since the CONCLUSION of WWII- study was published in 2007, so add 8 years of death. Officially, in the classification of veterans for the purposes of benefits, the US has been at war for the past 23 years. www.sott.net/article/273517-Study-US-regime-has-killed-20-30-million-people-since-World-War-Two

Carol McKee If you want to see how real socialism functions, and don't do as you do, carefully select previously prosperous and peaceful nations and celebrate that we not have yet crashed, the you should look at the Latin American third world hell holes. Explain why Latin America, despite better climate and natural resources, is a socialist poverty and crime ridden hell-hole, while North America, based on a free market and not being ruled by all-powerful socialist over-lords, are by far the countries wish to emigrate to. You liberals/socialists are deranged, unintelligent, uninformed evil liars. Ole Pedersen Ole- Did u think the remark, "pretty sane & logical for a repub" was HATEFUL? Obviously, you haven't listened to our Republican presidential candidates this season. They are generally acknowledged as radical in their views and some are perhaps unstable. Listen to Donald Trump. Some of the rhetoric which spews from his mouth is what I would consider hateful. I am sorry your system has failed you. In comparing systems of govt, I can only go by statistics on worldwide crime, citizen satisfaction scores, etc, since I don't personally know Norway. In answer to your post, I would be interested to know when Norway became "more socialist". Was it a recent regime shift? Sudden or gradual? I ask because I hope u can give me a place to start when I research your claims, to match your experience with the available facts. As far as Latin America, some so-called "socialist" govts are NOT politically democratic ( they are dictatorships) and are actually NOT socialist control of the means of production, but rather govt control of all business. They are a perversion of Marxist socialism- or what you might call "real socialism", if you knew about that which you speak. More like govt-run-capitalism, where govt simply replaces the citizen capitalist and makes EVERYONE poor. In it's unperverted form, socialism is actually WORKER control of the means of production- there are no overlords. But I do think govt has a place in managing certain business that impacts the well-being of it's citizens, in the cases where free-market capitalism would trample human rights or otherwise negatively impact the society. I am thinking of child labor laws, taxing power, regulatory power, ie: to prevent seizure of water rights or regulate pollution, etc. In the USA, we do not have free-market capitalism (risk vs reward) when financial institutions can gamble with abandon, knowing they will be bailed out by taxpayers when the shit hits the fan. I would only ask for a level playing field. Right now, business is greatly advantaged over the middle class by govt regulation and statute. Mega-Corporations are taxed at 25 cents for every dollar taxed out of individuals. There is financial incentive to export jobs, and powerful business and special-interest lobbies control many of the decisions made by our politicians. Govt places a low priority on infrastructure, education and health. This kind of capitalism will devour itself, as American consumer demand will dry up. But, no worries- the businesses will find other markets, while the USA becomes a third-world country.
