Hi Carly, what varnish do you use on to keep the vinyl inlace on the front? also is it a sealant for the vinyl?
@CarlyKeller3 жыл бұрын
Hi the vinyl is outdoor and does not need to be sealed! You can seal the paint if you'd like. The finish I like is in the supplies list :)
@chrisa30113 жыл бұрын
Hi Carly, thanks for sharing! Do you do anything to the acrylic before placing the vinyl on? Like clean it with something specific to help the vinyl stick better/last longer?
@CarlyKeller3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris! Thanks for watching! Its best to not use cleaners before applying vinyl. I like using a duster (like the Swiffer heavy duty kind) to help get any dust particles out of the way
@dreamdancer843 жыл бұрын
Hi Carly, I'm unable to find the paint you've used here, does any kind of paint work for this project? Or what sort of paint should I look for?
@CarlyKeller3 жыл бұрын
Look for acrylic paint!
@angelicasmith23604 жыл бұрын
So after I painted the hexagons with acrylic paint, I let them dry about 3 days, then stacked them back in the box. Opened the box a couple days later to put on the vinyl and the hexagons were all stuck together. When I took them apart some of the paint would be on the back of the hexagon it was on top of. Do you know a way to prevent this from happening? Is this what the poly acrylic seal is for?
@CarlyKeller4 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I've shipped these with no issue but had them individually wrapped in tissue. Maybe your paint felt dry, but wasn't totally cured? You'd still need to wait for your paint to cure to add the polycrylic.

Hi…. Carly, thank you for sharing this video, love the color that u choose…. Oh btw, did you put any coating for the back side after the last layer? Thank you … oh I am really new about this… can I use CRICUT JOY for to make this or I need to buy the explorer ?
@CarlyKeller2 жыл бұрын
Hi Stenny, you should be able to use the Cricut Joy for smaller vinyl decals like this! You can use polycrylic if you want to seal the paint

Hi Carly, this is a great video. What setting do you use when you cut your vinyl? I cannot seem to get my vinyl to cut deep enough so that when I weed, the negative vinyl comes right off, it's always a bit of a battle for me. My Cricut is also brand new. What setting do you use for the vinyl number wise and do you keep it on the default, more or less setting? Thanks in advance, much appreciated.

Hi Carol! I cut most of my vinyl on the default Premium Outdoor Vinyl setting. Hope that helps!

hi! would you say the best way then for 180 pieces would be make the shape and then write out all names and size too?
@CarlyKeller4 жыл бұрын
Hi Katie! For that many names I'd copy+paste them into a program like Inkspace, using the union function so your letters will be connected, getting to skip the welding process in Cricut. Save that as a vector image/SVG. You'll then be able to upload that image to Cricut Design Space and will need to slice each name out, but I still think that will be faster than welding each letter by hand. I hope that makes sense! My next large order I'll make a tutorial :)
@kblroaychkee86364 жыл бұрын
Carly Keller how would I seperate each name when I type them out? Will I be able to resize? Thanks! What font would you suggest?
