This is catchy not in the way modern pop songs are, but in the way that older songs are. Like there might be a moment that stands out and goes viral on TikTok, but I think the overall song is very earwormy based off it's feel in the way that older songs weren't about having one hook. Another thing I really love about this song is that you can tell she really loves what she's doing and that Rufus also loves what he's doing. This feels like a very genuine song. Also they're both from Vancouver so it's like she's supporting artists from her region of Canada which is pretty sweet.

only issue i have is the production of modern songs is it sounds too clean? like the high quality audio we have now is great but but lowkey takes the soul away from a song. like it sounds too sterile. not quite sure how to explain it. old songs sounded "warmer" somehow. also real drums need to be used more. we basically just need more real instruments. i love electronic music but certain things just can't be replicated with a computer.

I've never pay a lot of attention to Carly 's music before but with this song i felt a click into her music and discography. This song especially has that joyful yet melancholy tone that I really love, their voices together and music video is so artistically beautiful ❤️. And Finally, I hope that she has the recognition that she deserves .✨

Same! Maybe it was because of Call Me Maybe but I mistakenly pegged her as a one hit wonder kind of popstar. Party for One and Cut to the Feeling really proved me wrong, though and I've been a supporter since then.

2:51 is a pop culture moment. IDK to explain but this is POP.

Their lack of chemistry ties in well with the story of the song ,Its all a fantasy in her head. The idea of her lover reciprocating the love she shows him, her own imagination cant even construct. Carly in her own imagination can imagine herself in a shiny dress because that's not implausible, but the façade starts showing with the obvious set background of this 'nirvana' and the nail in the coffin being the complete lack of chemistry between them, particularly on his end. She wants him to return it but she just cant imagine it because the hurt was too deep to forget she cant even escape it in her own fantasy.

Everything about this is perfection. The music, Rufus, Carly, the references to A Trip to the Moon (1902)--this is my favorite dance song of the moment.

the guy who did the set design is a regular at my job! i saw him drawing in his notebook as he usually does and asked what he was working on and it was actually the rough draft for this video! cool to see the final outcome!! i remember seeing the draft with the city buildings in the background, the moon, and the rocketship and i told him it reminded me of that one smashing pumpkins video. he said yeah like that except more high school prom-like 😂 i get it now.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for Carly because I used to fancy the hell out of her as a teenager (still do tbf lol) but pop's not really my bag, I'm more of a punk/metalhead. This song's been getting a lot of play on the radio at work though and I massively dig it. Their harmonies are genuinely delicious on the ear and are mixed to perfection. Really, really well thought out and put together tune; you don't have to be a fan of a certain genre to appreciate an amazing track 🤘

Mhm, it’s also okay to like literally any genre 🫶🏼
@TheJayLordx2 жыл бұрын
@@Lost-mb1gj Definitely! Just most pop doesn't do anything for me because it's generally pretty soulless and just made to make a buck. You can totally tell when a tune is made with love though, like this one has 🤘

just watched twice and CARLY YOU MADE ME CRY!!!! This is easily the mv of the year imo... the theatrical vibes and I SEE YOU remaking the way old music videos used to be and the way the artists from the 70's and 80's used to act in their mvs. This is phenomenal and im not even mentioning the fact that this is YOUR BEST SONG ever.. you topped yourself with this one. The outro is SO spiritual and sad and beautiful at the same time, im still processing this song since it came out. Thank you so SO much and i LOVE YOU like REALLY
