What car review - 4.6 0-60 in damp conditions
@shmulikschor95264 жыл бұрын
I drove the circuit one yesterday it was great . But with so many expectations I was little disappointed from the softness of the car and the roll on the nice turn. And of course the noise . I am sure they could lower the car another 2 cm. Make the suspension less soft . And if we want to be crazy reduce another 80-100kg. And give us 300 hp. And on the way back with the bmw M 1 er I understood why it will never going to be replace but only add the GR with few tuning in the future . Excellent review 👍

If drivers are anything like me this car exists because of the Tesla. I own a Model 3 Performance Tesla and it's the dullest, most boring car I've ever driven in my life. I've ordered my Toyota Yaris GR and can't wait for it to arrive. I'll keep the Tesla to keep the environerds happy, but I've bought the Yaris to keep ME happy
@gameboyterrorysta63074 жыл бұрын
The funniest thing is that process of making batteries for EVs and transporting them over the ocean is one of the most damaging processes in the world. Your Tesla, if used as much as average petrol/diesel car, will be "less damaging" for the environment after ~15 years of driving. If you're using only electricity from "green sources", so in practice this is possble only in Norway. Environmental advantage of EVs is one of the biggest lies in the industry.

Those break neck launches must get old real fast, huh! ?
@MrQmie4 жыл бұрын
Why you care about the environerds? That the big problem of EVs... They are boring because less emotions. No sound, no gear changing(for most of them), no rattles of the drive train, fast acceleration to around 200 kph but then... Racing against trucks on unlimited highways... EVs are for the city, hybrids are a good solution for both.

Brilliant. I agree with so much of what was said in this review. A truly refreshing enthusiast offering from Toyota in a world obsessed with EVs and SUVs. If you're keen on proper driving and not so keen on the kind of ubiquity offered by a Golf R and its peers this has to be the ultimate modern hot hatch. Oh and THANK YOU for mentioning how criminally underrated the Audi S1 is/was. I bought one new in 2017 and even after a 987 Cayman S I absolutely loved it. There’s too much footage available to doubt this car can’t lower the normal (uk anyway) 0 to 60 mph by a considerable margin, figures of 4.7 /4.5 are everywhere - that’s as fast if not faster than the MK3 RS Focus which is amazing ! I believe it’s mainly due to the fact that you can hit 60 mph in second gear but for 62 mph you need third also they seem to be producing more like 270 bhp rather than the 257 - but we must take hats off to TOYOTA for producing this - what looks like a masterpiece 👏👏👏👏👏

So is this the equivalent of the Lanica Delta HF Integarle , though this car is not been used in the WRC for now . It has been a while since any auto manufacturers have dared to build a real road going rally car in a volume form. The last one from Ford was the Escort RS , none of the Focus RS car ever used 4WD , Toyota's last was the Celica GT4's most been back in the old Group A days along with the cars from Subaru and Mitsubishi cars . So it is nice to see what could be a last Swan song for this sort of car. Funny thing I just noticed this car has 265 bhp if so that is the same as the Lancer Evo 8 in road spec. Back in 90's I wanted to own a Lancia Delta HF Intergrali Evo 1 but at 21 years old both their sales price and the insurance have me no chance . But I sure would , not mind getting my hands on one of these to try now at 54 things are much cheaper to insure. Great to see some body producing a car like this in times like these.

@Rocketed124 жыл бұрын
@mr hansen There's nothing 'wrong' with a Golf R, which ia a mass production, smooth tarmac, straight line car. Its an all rounder family car made to go faster A WRC road car is designed to change directions at lighting speeds and take corners and bends at an amazing pace. This is a rally car, for all weathers, all surfaces. But I think you need to be conversant with WRC in the first place as well as probably having some knowledge of cars like Subaru Impreza STi, Mistubishi Lancer Evolution, and all the other previous road rally cars which were a dream for real driver enthusiasts. The Golf R isn't in the same category

Did you test drive the Yaris? The m140i xDrive? Where you live? On the wet this xDrive is fun as hell! But, yes you get this 'boat feel' in curves

I feel that journalists have over-hyped this car. In isolation, it seems great, but put up against other hot hatches so people can really compare it.

I have always said from that start that this car would be Toyota's "sorry" for the new supra with its new BMW.. Oops, I meant with its new JZ3 engine and they did not compromise on perfection at all! Well done Toyota WE LIKE WHAT WE SEE IN THE GR!!!!!!

Thank the supra for this. Toyota had to redeem them self for asking Bmw so they made this

I believe the GR Supra will produce less than 20,000 units before the end of its run in which there will be no replacement. Lets face it, it was an image stunt to bring in buyers. This would make it a lot harder to find in the future and hopefully make it appreciate rather than depreciate.

I love this car and would love to get one but who's buying this you'll have to be late 20s early 30s to get one of these and by that time children are involved. For 30k you could buy 2 brand new decent cars or 2 very good cars in second hand market. Its going to be hard to use this car as a daily for the people that can actually buy these cars.

Can it be better than the old Glanza?

I own this car, and id like to say that anyone that has been in it develops - whaty i like to call - the Yaris smile. Sure there is faster, but when i bean the nuts off it around a roundabout and look left. Just a very big smile. Occasionally a gasp.

Dear Toyota, please bring this to the US. Not everyone wants to drive a boring pickup, Prius, suv/crossover or full electric vehicle. Some of us enjoy driving!

Can someone tell me why GY70 is on every Yaris GR.
@mackie10014 жыл бұрын
The prefix is regional GY = Brighton and 70 = second half of the 2020 registration year. I am assuming it’s no accident by the press car fleet manager.
