I don’t understand why you have to drive them with the tail smoking the tyres. No one drives like that on the road and after doing 50 track days I can tell you that no one drives like that on the track because it’s wasteful and dangerous. It’s a pity you don’t just show good lines and balance with the cars.

As much as the reviewers love the 911 ST, it's not a fair comparison to include it when it's unobtainable... you just can't walk into a showroom and buy one. That shouldn't be a reflection on CAR Magazine, but more so on Porsche for punting this car about to all automotive journalists to review. Why build the perfect car and then not let people buy it.

I have recently looked at a Mercedes and a Volvo. Have tried both and I bought the Mercedes purely because I thought the dashboard of the Volvo looked clumsy. The Mercedes looks much more pleasant and refined. And the MBUX operating system just feels better to me.

Looks like a flop from what I can gather from the reviewer. Unlike the Ionic 5N. Looks to be quite under-damped, they wanted it to resemble the "real" (as in "not-an-EV" Alpine A110 but it looks like they couldn't really do it with this weight. However, this does not mean that the regular Renault 5 EV is a flop. Quite the contrary I would say, I really like it.

Looking to buy secondhand and leaning towards the BMW. Merc is gordy and I couldn't live with that Golf interior with the dumb buttons. Cupra Leon is the same.

Difficult to get excited about any of them. They're all big and heavy, or very expensive, or ugly. Not a single one is small, light, beautiful and reasonably priced, which shouldn't be such a high bar for this category.

Bit disappointing that James acquiesced and felt it necessary to agree with Ben. Surely it's OK to have a split decision on these tests? Voting with your heart would probably mean the Lotus, your head would probably choose the Porsche. An A110GT would have been the better choice of Alpine but ultimately, it's 4-pot soundtrack loses out to the other cars. It's likely the winner on running costs though..

Why is the winner of the test a car that you can’t even buy? Only include a product in a test when a consumer can purchase! This is the gayest test!

I own an Mégane E-Tech which has the same engine/power and I can't imagine this to be much sportier. Should have given it AWD and 300+ HP.
