Respect to Melo as well for answering the questions honestly and obtaining his perspective. A lot of narratives have been drawn on his name, some deserved some undeserved. You have people that love Melo, some that hate him. Melo’s career has been plagued w bad management. From Detroit not taking him, to the Denver not putting the pieces around him, Knicks failing him, and Thunder and Rockets ineptitude have been well documented. Watching this interview just shows how disrespected melo is in the NBA. From what I took from this interview just shows how much of a great individual and player he is. Melo could've easily went to another team and easily won a championship, but instead he wanted to compete and fight for a title, something this league is not familiar with anymore. People keep comparing bron and melo, but the difference is they won't have a problem building a team around lebron, they won't do the same for melo. This interview melo sheds light on the clear issue with 2 different teams which was communication as far as what he can provide for said teams. Alternative agendas were being made behind his back and he made the best out of it instead of whining and complaining

I think one big issue with Melo is that he has this huge superstar ego that needs to be catered to and an entitlement that his skills do not warrant anymore like they used to. He is currently a role player, off the bench in the NBA. But he is demanding that organizations come to him, kiss his ass and gently give him a massage before he will take an off the bench role. If Joe Ingles or Matthew Dellavedova were in the exact same situation, they would simply shut the fuck up, be super humble, and thank a team for the opportunity to be a role player on their team. Then they would come in, no questions asked and work their asses off, hustling, hitting open shots, etc. It's hard as hell for a former superstar like Melo to do that, when people have kissed his ass his whole life because he was the man.

Melo, the Denver Nuggets was the best situation you had in your career. That Nuggets team you had before you left Denver was a VERY good team; a contending team. Leaving Colorado hurt your career. You had good pieces around you that you just needed to build on.

What Cavs team are you talking about? None of his teams were better than a LBJ/Love/Kyrie led team. Even if his teams were better than say the 2007 Cavs team, it still wasn’t a great team. That Cavs team was a top 4 defensive team. Melo never had a superteam unlike LBJ/Wade.

The Rock when Bron made the finals without superstars that was in a weak east.Melo played in the west which in this era has always been the tougher conference.
