I think it was more of the fact that she wanted to rule the world for herself (i think that was her intention im not sure) and the fact that Dracula was greedy enough to kill all the humans all over his wife's death. And killing all the humans robs the vampires there only source for food (or drink)

I'm starting to think that Carmilla was actually JEALOUS of Dracula and Lisa's marriage. It's never explained (in the show) how Dracula became the ultimate vampire, but season 1 & 2 do a very good job of showing the audience no one stood a chance as against him. Godbrand even says that Dracula wasn't at his best and hadn't feed for days, yet Godbrand still wouldn't think of trying to fight Dracula. The only hint at Dracula's past is the picture of Leon Belmont in Trevor's family hold (season 2), which suggest the storyline from the game [Castlevania: Lament of Innocence] was canonical, and Dracula was friends with Leon before the whole vampire thing.
@SoulidiumHollow2 жыл бұрын
I played that game on the ps2, it was friggin good for a Castlevania game at the time along with Symphony of the night. The ending legit shocked me after I kicked Walter's ass around the throne room.
@robonaught10 ай бұрын
It could be possible in the show that Dracula and Leon were once both friends but I doubt it played out exactly like in Lament Of Innocence. Since Dracula became a vampire through trapping Walter's soul within the Crimson Stone and how Death obeys him because he holds the Crimson Stone. Since there's no evidence of the Crimson Stone existing in the show and how Season 4 shows Dracula and Death are not buddies because Death wanted (and possibly also manipulated) Dracula to commit genocide so he could feed on the spirits of everybody who died.

Lisa was teaching Dracula the ways of humans, to walk the world as a man, live as a man or at least tolerate men. How would she do that if Vlad turned her? I think Carmilla didn't realize that it was Lisa who was turning Vlad into a human. I think the only reason Dracula didn't kill her was because doing so would only alienate his Generals more than they already are. Not that he cares what they think of him, he wants them to follow orders and they'll be less likely to be loyal to someone who just snaps and kills an underling (rude as she's being). You can find this lore I believe in Castlevania Lament of innocence for the Playstation 2. After all they show Leon Belmont in a painting from official artwork from the game itself in the show when they go to the Belmont Estate library.
@TheSleepingSeer2 жыл бұрын
To elaborate on what the others here have already said: Before he was Vlad Dracula Tepes, he was Mathias Cronqvist, a brilliant war strategist in the Middle Ages. While he was fighting in the Crusades, his first wife, Elisabetha, passed away. He suffered a crisis of faith and turned against God, as Mathias blamed Him for the loss of his wife. Mathias manipulated his friend, Leon Belmont, into stealing the soul of another vampire, Walter Bernhard, with an item known as the Crimson Stone. Doing so gained him the allegiance of Death. He revealed to Leon that he forsaken God over the loss of his wife, and that he would continue to curse God unto eternity. It was here that he changed his name to Vlad Tepes, and it was also here the the Belmont clan first vowed to destroy Dracula. How much of this is canon in this show is unknown. Not much of it seems incompatible with this continuity, though, and the following history of Dracula - his marriage to Lisa, them parenting Adrian Tepes, and her burning at the stake for practicing medicine leading to Dracula's war on humanity, the world, and God Himself - more or less is what happens in the show.

Besides Carmilla’s guts of steel, I do think she has a point about why Dracula never turned Lisa into a vampire. He says he hates humans so much so why did he never detest that part of her? I think it’s possibly to do with the fact he likes her humanity. Wasn’t he also saying to someone in his study that “So many of my people think the same”, and that’s when I realised that he never turned her because he enjoyed the simplicity of her nature as a human who thought differently to his vampirekin. Idk though, it’s just a thought.

@@PeachDragon_ I said that already. He enjoyed the nature of her humanity and the fact that she was simply a human. In his grief and mourning, he unleashed the demon army onto Walachia and the rest is history. I mean, it would be kinda weird to say that you loved her for not wanting to hurt humans literally after dragging out all these vampire generals to a war against them. Carmilla would just use that statement against him. A better one I think would be "because she did not wish it, and as a better human than most I appeased the delusion as her reward. Now that she's gone, by the hands of the other humans no less, i have no more reason to tolerate their insolence. " Which, tbh would have been a half lie because I think Dracula did love the nurturing side of her but it would have been a better deflection to Carmillas attempt to deligitimize the war.

Late to the party as I might be, I'd like to make the point that this was the most restrained Dracula has likely ever been in his life. He's surrounded by vampires who are like gnats to him- the oldest of them likely only being a few centuries old and while gifted in magic, definitely weaker than he is by a long margin, the youngest of them being basic foot soldiers who get dispatched by humans in droves, despite their powers. Dracula has, in numerous bits of Castlevania lore, been described and shown as near god-like in his abilities. A master of science, alchemy and mysticism of uncountable varieties. His castle alone is an endless library and laboratory, designed to be impregnable by mortal hands. In his past, he had killed beings akin to gods, actual old gods, demons, angels and if its to be believed, a list of Belmonts so long that he makes their catalogue look short. Carmilla, strong as she may be, has only ever displayed advanced speed, strength and agility- no where near the level of even Alucard, who dispatches vampires dozens of times his own age like an adult suplexing a child. If Alucard got devastated by Dracula not once but twice, both times when Dracula wasn't even at his full strength consciously or not, Carmilla would have been flayed alive. Instead of killing her, this man sits on his throne, seeths for less than ten seconds, then stands up and walks away. While this looked like sulking to the others, this was him playing by the rules- no massacring the people he might have a use for. He could have devastated the entirety of Wallachia single-handedly. He was able to create fireballs, manifest himself as a firey projection, teleport, move at speeds entirely outside the human perception, cause lasting foundational damage to his own castle (which as I said, was made to be impregnable) and had a mastery of combat that let him bat around other expert fighters with ease. He is perfection. But he needed Carmilla and the others to wage his war for him, because the endless minutia of committing a global genocide was tedious and interfered with his grieving process- a process he'd only been undergoing for just over a year. Carmilla was playing him and he knew it, but had no patience or care for the political game she was playing. At that point, he figured that if she came to kill him with the others, he'd just deal with it then and eradicate all of his foes at once- in the long run, they'd all starve to death and throws themselves to the sun anyway.
@adriantepes4355 Жыл бұрын
In the netflix adaptation he was sadly watered down. Had this been the lore accurate Drac he'd have probably summoned a few trillion hell creatures or at worst erased Carmilla (everything evil in CV is due to Dracula himself after all)
