Thanks for explaining the battery system! It looks like a fun camera to try.

I still have one and the D1H CCD is simply stunning. The colors are so vibrant, rich and unique. I also love the fact that I can shoot at a maximum shutter speed of 1/16000.

The weed/vine was I believe a Virginia Creeper. I have been learning photography for the last two years on my first DSLR the Nikon D7000 and 35mm Nikkor DX AF-S 1.8 and loving it. Thanks for your great, clear, gently paced videos. You are a gem and wonderful person.

Carmine, another great photo class! I always enjoy them, where else in the world can you get this interesting information on photography and cameras! I bought this camera when it came out, and stopped using film again. For the record the original cost of $4350 would be $7,743 in today's dollars which would be only $ 2,581 per megapixel ! But you are absolutely right, when I look at all my photos from that camera, you would never know they were only 3 megapixel! I love these classes featuring all the oldies and goodies at bargain prices today. You get an A+ on this class and three thumbs up! Take care, Terry in Colorado

I have a Nikon d100 and D2x and I find myself using my d100 a lot, I love the colors on the ccd sensor. The first camera I bought was a Nikon d80 and loved it. I had only used a canon from photography class before that.

If I remember correctly the "H" stood for "high speed" on the D1H. Like you said, it was designed for sports and photojournalists. The lower megapixel and larger buffer capacity over the D1X were the big selling points. For most purposes a 3MP camera would be fine for most people. Like I've told you before I printed 20x24 inch prints for clients back in the day when I was using my D1X which was a 5.7MP camera. :)

There's a lot of talk about CCD colors and the like. Do you feel CCD offers any advantage? (Studio looks nice BTW); I have an old Canon G10 I bought new, and it does a wonderful job on landscapes and since it works with regular Canon flashes it does a nice job on people too. The viewfinder is optical with no info, but it still does great image wise. Nice video, thanks!

For the monitor, I would use an older operating system (or even plugged to the camera), than what you have. I don´t want to introduce any hype about that, but I´ve seen older OS, like win 8, produce brighter colors and clearer images on the screens, regardless of the monitor model. Hope it helps!

Good point on not being able to crop the images once taken out of camera. You need to get it right in camera was never truer than in an application likethis one. I really like the looks of that camera and just might look one up on Fleabay to play with since it has the screw focuse motor. Dang it! Now I am searching eBay!!!!!

I'm using a D1H with lithium batteries and they last forever, literally thousand of shutter actuation's. My old original batteries were worth 30-40 photographs and then swap for another almost dead battery but eBay solved my battery problems!
@CarmineTavernaPhotographyАй бұрын
I will start looking for those Lithium batteries today :)
