No...homemade clay doesnt need baking, its an airdry clay...you can use polymer clay too

I use acrylic paints...Plastic and glass dont actually hold any paint if you apply directly...do apply varnish to make it permanent.

Thats a great idea...u can use heart shape ply, cut the photograph also in heart shape, stick it at the center and fill the remaining part ie border with red roses....or you can do anything similar like this...you can even add their names or write 'Love' with that

May be your clay is overcooked thats why little dry already....mix some glue before you start working with it
