I love the way the mechanics work together in this one. I wish the theme was something more coherent, or maybe just simpler, like Power Grid. A weak theme would never stop me from playing or buying a game, but a good theme can really cement a good game. Can't wait to give it a try. Thanks for the great running commentary throughout the game. I appreciate you all!

Last 1 or 2 turns seemd a bit lacklustre (like you mentioned). But other than that it looks like a lot of fun. Carnegie, Faiyum and John company 2nd edition were my recent purchases just because of you and the golden elephant. I almost got Oath, because it was discounted to 70 eur. But then i realized, that my wife and my group and most probably me as well would hate it heh. Anyway your play-throughs are truly the best. Good crew, good camera and layout. Happy to help keep the lights on with my pledge!

Hmm. I like the good points that you made about the game and can't argue against them, but I don't find myself getting excited about it at all. I like some of the mechanisms on their own, but put together it doesn't feel very cohesive or have an exciting narrative arc. At least from just watching this one play. I didn't find myself as a viewer caring much about what would happen next the way I typically do in an HC playthrough. I'll have to give it a play myself.

please do your own research about Carnagie. His opinion and comment are slanted for some odd reason. like all great world changers, the bad usually is what people cling to. again, dont take his historic perception as is, do more digging.

It's great, I used it yesterday. The 2 player rulebook setup is laughably confusing.
