He is good, picks up difficult maestra requests instantly. Easy high B-flat. Bravo.

This is a tenor for the future, he has the smile in his voice and "peng" centred. Beautiful instrument. It's good what Marilyn comments and coaches. She's so good!We must cherish wisdom! 💖🌹

Wow. His voice opens my heart. His vibrato on the high notes is like magic. Overcome ❤️

Great voice, he had me from the start, and that doesn't always happen in these master classes. He is going to be VERY good some day. Bravo!

Dear Carlos: What a beautiful moment you gave us with your beautiful voice singing this amazing song. I have seen you grow artistcly. You are humble and your attitude towards the teachings of the great Marilyn Horne shows that you have a universe of music ahead of you. Congratulations!!!!!.

He does have a great voice and will do well. Ms Horne knows how to help with interpretation and is a true master teacher.

I watched this several times and the amount of nonsense the MAESTRA says is incredible. I'd be ashamed on her part this video is open publicly. He is terrific.

Thank you for your positive comment on my voice and performance. I am appalled at your comment about Miss Horne, one of the greatest singers of the XX century or any century for that matter. Ese tipo de comentario sólo viene de un energúmeno que tiene poca capacidad para comprender lo que nosotros tratábamos de hacer en esta sesión. Imbécil.

2 seconds in - I'm in looove with this voice - I see so much fame & recognition for this brilliant young man, or if not, we as a society are doing something wrong. Just a little bit more depth & force - a bigger sound, would be good. He reminds me slightly of Pavarotti.

Interesting that she does not look at him perform; she's mostly listening. I can only imagine the wealth of experience she's had in her long career. That alone is extremely valuable to impart to young singers.

Así que tuviste oportunidad de recibir un master class de una de las más grandes mezzos del siglo XX. Una de mis favoritas. Excepcional cantante e intérprete

I'm disagreeing with the comments "below".....I believe the "test" of a quality voice is " once heard, will it be known the next time you hear it". I think that was the case of Pav, Bjorling, Wunderlich, Corelli....etc. This is a good young voice like so many other well-schooled voices. I had the sense that he may have warmed up too much too soon. To my ear his voice sounds a bit tight....as though being filtered through a screen...thus lacking the "ping", often too bright is such a thing is possible, with Bjorling. So a fine student with a fine future methinks, but NOT to be ushered into the pantheon of greats at the moment.

It is shocking that in this recorded moment Marilyn Horne was found to be to unfamiliar with the composer Francesco Paolo Tosti. The hope is that the singer did not want to embarrass Ms. Horne by speaking to much about the song.

Maybe he could be a typical Italian tenor on a Venetian gondola singing for tourists. To me there are big lacks at low registers. Additional he 'schmettert' typical Italian style with pressure at voice.

Did she say 'rallentire'?
@will80264 жыл бұрын
maybe she made a simple mistake and combined "ralentir" (french) and "rallentare" (Italian) An easy mistake to make when you have studied numerous languages.

"rallentare" means "ralentir"....slowing down...langsamer werden...🤔

Horne just doesn't understand the music as a whole, is too much focused on details without any importance, that could be solved when the whole picture is treated before even singing, and also some technical details that are attached to how one perceives vocal identity. It's like treating symptoms and not the disease. Even when this tenor is good. To show differences, listen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oILcYpuPZq-Hj8U

He's a typical Latin tenor. He needs to mature and get deeper into the music rather than enjoy his beautiful timbre and sing everything on the same level.

Nasal masky technique. Forward pushes the tongue down onto the larynx creating a thick and ingolata sound. And imbalanced sound.

It's strange she corrects him on "voluttà," since she speaks Italian very well. Perhaps she didn't know that particular word. This is how the master does it... kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXm9dIetgsqGl5o
