You all should know that lyrics were a real problem for Brian----------here, Mike's lyrics turn what could be a " I'm feeling sorry for myself " song, into something else completely. If you want to hear a grown man sing this song as beautifully as Brian Wilson did, you can find it on _Under the Covers Vol. 1_ by Matthew Sweet and Susannah Hoffs. Having said that, this version is lovely. The harmonies sound a little unearthly, though (especially on the insane transition to key change), which makes me think AutoTune. I know, the Brian-Wilson genes and all, but I still think some vocal tracks are using it here.

Not sure about that, Ben: I saw the girls pull this one off live at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville and it sounded perfect. (The highlight of the show was having mama Marilyn join them on-stage for a version of "Pray For Surf").

To Mr. Culture : Sir, it's easy to think AT is in use here, because BW's chord changes are so difficult & unusual. If you think THIS is complex, just give a listen to The Boys doing " Keep An Eye ON Summer". When asked, even BW himself was unable to explain how the chord progressions & the harmonics came to him. BOTH, are nearly inconceivably difficult to imagine, much less SING note-perfect. -------BW wrote this song at 21 y/o, right after 11/22/63. Today, anyone hearing it WOULD imagine AT, because it's impossible to imagine genius at this level. --------------------Wolfsky9, 69 y/o
