Wow! Your command of multiple languages is amazing, Jay! I didn't know you knew fluent Hebrew, ha ha ha!! I loved that view of the fishies around those tree roots in the water, Dee! I loved seeing the live conch too. Oh my goodness, love that interesting beach music..."shake your bum-bum!" 🤣 and don't make a peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich, no matter how much you'd like to!!

With the new restrictions on cruising, I've been keeping an eye on the NCL excursions page, as well as my fingers, toes, eyes and everything else crossed in hopes that our late October/early November cruise goes without a hitch. They now offer a "Let's Take A Selfie" Roatan tour, which includes a sloth encounter at Mayan Eden, as well as a resort stop at the Buccaneer and ending at Las Palmas. Looks cool, and hope that our planned/rescheduled vacation goes as planned. :)

Great video, guys! Question - is this the same location you would visit as part of the Johnson Sloth and Monkey Hangout Tour?
@parodeejay2 жыл бұрын
Yes, this tour was with Daniel Johnson's, so presumably they would still be using the same beach!! :D

I love Coxen Hole. NCL ports there so it’s just a step outside the gates into the local area. I actually enjoy “urban” side of the Caribbean, I’m not into the touristy resort scene, I like to feel like a local.

We haven't sailed any lines yet that offer docking at Coxen Hole, but that would be interesting!!

How long were you able to stay at the beach on this tour? Thinking of doing this in July!
@parodeejay4 жыл бұрын
We loved this tour because it was pretty customizable... we were offered the chance to stop at the West End area for some shopping, but declined because we wanted more beach time. I think we ended up with about two hours at the beach, but if you choose to spend a half hour or hour at the West End, it would cut into that a little bit. But our guide was super flexible and basically just told us to come find her when we were ready to leave the beach!! :D

Did you take this excursion from the ship? It looks pretty cool
@parodeejay5 жыл бұрын
No, we booked it independently through Daniel Johnson’s. The ship offered a similar excursion that went to the same monkey & sloth hangout, but I don’t believe it included the beach time or island tour, and it was pricier.

I love just floating along, ha ha... we did a snorkeling excursion in St. Croix last week on the Pride, and I could actually see better underwater than I remembered... but I do still want to get a proper mask, I think. :P

All the rich people going to the island on cruise ships while they live in damaged poverty...I don't know if I could enjoy that
@debby62355 жыл бұрын
I get what your saying. I once took a bus tour from Cancun to an ecological park called Xcaret. I cried the entire way because it was heart wrenching to see how people were so poor just outside the fancy Cancun resorts. I had a convo few years later when visiting Bahamas with a local and she pressed the point that without tourism they wouldn't have any other way to make money, tourism was all they had. It cemented in my mind to keep traveling and ensure I spent money while there on local only businesses and goods. Also to volunteer and donate where needed and tread lightly in another country. I wish their governments would do better for their people so they had more than just tourism to feed their families. In a perfect world I guess.
